Yes, our sneaks were excellent. I was curious about our running backs’ success when under center.
Worse than that, it improved our yards per carry.
I know it’s bad, rodriguez might help a little, the o-line needs to look in the mirror and realize they are SEC line, start acting like it
I think anytime your struggling. To hold blocks up front if helps to
1. Get the ball to the RB closer to the line of scrimmage and…
2. Get it to them with a head of steam moving towards the line instead of standing.
so yes I think it would help in the run game.
Everybody seems to have fallen in line with the spin that it’s not that our line can’t do it, they just aren’t experienced enough and are making judgment mistakes.
i think that’s some of it but the other part is they are just not as explosive or aggressive as the guys we’ve had in the past. Not sure how you fix that or teach more aggressiveness but that’s what they are missing IMO.
That applies even in pass pro as we tend to get pushed back on our heels too easily and aren’t aggresive enough with their hands punching back. Until we get more physical and aggressive I’m not sure much will change.
It's the running game in its entirety. WR's aren't getting to blocks, TE's are running by players they should block so it isn't solely on the OLine positions. I also fault the backs for sometimes taking inexplicable cuts into a tackle. Outside zone may lead to too many decisions for the backs.
