I won't give the station or host any free advertising by mentioning the names, but I was briefly listening to a couple of Louisville hosts this morning and found it interesting.
So, Louisville has lost to UK 7 out of the last 8 times, including twice in the NCAA tourney.
UK has made the Elite 8 5 of the last 6 years.
UK has made 4 of the last 5 Final Fours.
UK won the title in 2012.
UK has a loaded team this year, just beat a highly rated Duke team, and is a threat to win it all again this year.
UK just signed yet another awesome class that will ensure they are in the running again NEXT year as well.
And by the way, Louisville is the program in trouble with the NCAA because of HOOKERS.
How does the Louisville fan/media handle all of this?
By criticizing Cal for not having won more titles during this run and implying it means he isn't a good coach.
At first, it made me angry, but then I realized just how pathetic it was on their part.
Their own program is so far below ours that they don't even want to talk about it. All they can do is throw rocks at Cal and UK for not being even more dominant during this run.
I firmly believe that success in college basketball is about putting your team in position to win each year. Due to the one game scenario in the tourney, weird things can and do happen. If Cal coaches here another 10 years, I'm positive we'll win 2-3 more championships.
Can't wait to beat them yet again on December 26th. And, if they make the tournament, to put them out yet again!
