But I have to go with Jordan Lovett.

Against UF, AR-15 completed a long pass, and the dude was headed down the sideline, clearly outrunning our corner. Lovett had a slight angle of pursuit, caught him behind, and tackled him like he’s stolen something from Lovett’s Mama.

I saw it again, on the YouTube replay last night and it blew my mind, again.

Yeah, we are deep at safety, but how do we keep Lovett off the field?

Along the same lines I loved watching Bud Dupree and Josh Allen also - seeing someone of Allen’s size back in coverage was nuts

I have to go with our freshman phenom, Walker. He is built like a Russian bear but moves like a Russian ballerina. Movements so smooth it looks effortless, but it isn't. It's fun watching offensive linemen try to block him.

I meant for ‘23, and didn’t want to make it an intergenerational comparison . . . though I think Lovett will be on that short list, shortly.

Against one of our early opponents, after a pass breakup, the corners and safeties literally went “skipping” toward the sideline, and Walker followed them off the field, skipping like a skinny five-year-old on caffeine.

Lovett is stinking good. With Geiger back and Childress playing great this year safety will be one of our strongest and deepest positions on the field on the D end. Tisdale and Dotson back and they like Albert. Noticed that Afari is backing up Wright this week. Where will he play next season?
