I was certainly unhappy about our defense against ULL but I do think there are some things to consider. First I thought our secondary seemed a bit better from last year. The fact that this was the first game for some DB's is also an issue that may promise even better performance as time goes by.
The second thing to consider is the three players not playing last night were all part of our starting front seven or specialists in our front seven. So given those two factors when all the players are on the field and playing we may still see a defense that is better than what we saw last year. Certainly a deeper defense.
