Players hated Bird also. It seems pretty common in the NBA that you aren't well liked when you can dominate without having elite athleticism. Steph thinks the game like Bird used to. They knew exactly how to attack whoever was guarding them on a particular night. They did their homework and they both had a particular skill set that took advantage of what they learned. There's more than one way to play the game.

From what the article said it seems like other players hate all the attention Steph gets from the media. And comparing Steph and Ron Artest in any way is laughable.

It's mostly the media coverage that most guys resent.

He talks shit, taunts guys, celebrates, etc but somehow it's viewed differently than if other guys did it. His dad was a bleepin' NBA player but guys who grew up nearly homeless have to hear about his "underdog" story. Wouldn't sit right with me either.

That said, I like that Steph is a shit talker and showboat. Makes the game fun. But all these parents slapping Curry jerseys on their little white kid would lose their mind if LeBron acted like Steph did.

He's also completely vanished in the finals a couple times and seems to get a complete pass. Again, other guys get crucified for carrying a team and losing. Doesn't sit well.
