I did feel bad for Porzingis initially. I was glad to see him shutting some people up, but I got irritated at a lot of the unwarranted hype (The Kristaps Porzingis song by ESPN being the biggest irritation).

He was widely viewed as a project prior to the draft. Knicks fans wanted a good player then and there. They got one, they just didn't know at the time. Pretty funny how prior to the draft, Okafor was once again crowned as "top of the class today", "best player", and "will be rookie of the year", and the two players at the top of the draft that were considered to be behind him, and wouldn't have as much of an immediate impact, are beating him in the ROY race.

Who is beating Okafor other than Towns in the ROY race? Okafor averages 5 more points a game and averages 1/10 less a rebound a game than Pringles. I'll just agree to disagree that Pringles boy is ahead of Okafor.

To be honest I thought the same thing when I first heard of him, then I watched a few video clips of him leading up to the draft, and instead of being uncoordinated, unskilled, and scared, he looked athletic, skilled, and mean.
