OT: Twitter in Absolute Shambles

You maybe missed it previously but I don't care what you are upset about. It's the most irrelevant cry ITT. You're hyperventilating over something that hasn't even happened. Besides, if what Trump said he would have Elon do by way of making government more efficient as in cutting bloat - I'M HERE FOR THAT!

What you see as "hero worship" is what I commonly see as criticism from folks that don't really do anything. They have no concept of what it takes to start, run and profit in business. They have never had to work with and manage people. But, they're always a remote expert on it. Hate to break it to you, Elon is really f'ing good at business and I like that he makes cool, innovative shit. You know who I don't look up to, people that don't do shit about shit but cry.

Okay, let's pick out the insult and buzzwords

"Crying". No one is crying.

"Hyperventilating". No one is hyperventilating.

What I see as hero worship is calling it what it is, however. There is a persistent perception among Republicans that Elon Musk is a self-righteous figure on the frontlines of fighting "wokeism".

Furthermore, I am a capitalist, I have owned a business and I am in tech. I don't know why that is relevant to anything, like at all, but that was a weird direction to take this thread.

All I'm saying, to once again reiterate, is that Elon Musk bought influence with Donald J. Trump. Because it's true.

Furthermore, I am a capitalist, I have owned a business and I am in tech. So, actually, I do know quite a bit about the software business. I don't know why that is relevant to anything, like at all, but that was a weird direction to take this thread.

I'm sorry, I thought we were making up how everyone else feels. You just seemed like a cryer and may need a few seconds to catch your breath. You are twisting up into a pretzel so that may have something to do with it.

Hey, tell me more about how I feel from your remote perspective? I'll check back in later and see how much I care about what you perceive.

Yeah, and then away from the echo chambers, curated narratives and thick cognitive dissonance that will undoubtedly follow, nothing has really changed...only that a Republican uses the platform to promote his politics.

Again, he owns it. His right.

From your Forbes link:

The majority of recent requests have come from foreign governments, such as India, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and Germany, all of which have increased internet regulations in the past year, according to the report—none came from the U.S.

Would you mind pausing on your perception and responding to why you think Elon working with foreign government requests about twitter posts and none of them from the US has anything to do with him censoring free speech? This would, of course, assume you are aware that not all countries in the world have a constitution and when we are discussing free speech, it's implied we're talking about in America.

The other link was funny especially because in the same vein as thinking you know what everyone thinks and trying to argue that with me, Elon thinks "cis" and "cisgender" are slurs. I definitely agree with Elon here and think they are, too. I like the 1st amendment.

Take Musk’s growing obsession with the transgender community, for instance. He declared that the words “cis” and “cisgender” are now considered slurs on Twitter. These words are not slurs. “Cisgender” is a neutral, clinical term that means the opposite of transgender. There is no other well-known word for people who are not transgender.

While recognizing you are taking one line out of three articles listed, and you have no evidence that Musk has not complied with US requests, you can't say you are on the side of free speech then make excuse for others infringing on it.

That's like saying that if some random guy in Des Moines, Iowa is arrested for free speech that it's not your problem because it's not you. I think that's an argument that lacks principle.

So everyone else needs evidence but you and I shouldn't quote the articles you linked?

Do you believe in common sense?

Edit: Des Moines, Iowa is not represented by a foreign government.

No, evidently and obviously, I lack common sense, but to be honest, I don't know what you're trying to argue any more. I've kind of touched on everything I wanted to type. So, now we are pen pals sending sweet nothing over the interweb.

"Hi friend"

"Hi friend"

You thought I was arguing with you? I was very nicely picking your weak shit apart and using your own words and methodology against you.

It's my fault for taking your initial bait. I thought you were serious for a minute but I was mistaken. Good luck with all that pent up Elon hate and projecting your insecurities out through half-baked thoughts on everything!

We are you picking at my "weak shit"? It makes me feel awkward.

I have KAB blocked (due to Mark Twain's "Never argue with an idiot..." theory), but even without seeing his drivel... this thread satisfies lol.

Thank you Catlanta!

Gimme my echo chamber!

100% this guy presses "Show ignored" in high anticipation of a response.

Hi @WTF Cat

Dear leftists and other anti-American combatants,

We have endured years of leftist lies, hoaxes, lawfare, plundering, war, violence, and Marxist division directed by your deep state machine and msm that has been destroying our country and the world. Your latest ridiculous puppet was soundly defeated.

The days of having to argue with smug, ignorant, and often unhinged assholes is over. We have a mandate from the American people for real change and we are taking our country back. It won't be easy, but it is a worthy goal that ALL Americans should get behind.

Get on board or keep plastering egg on your face because nobody GAF about your sniveling bullshit. It is now irrelevant.

The funniest thing about all these "Agenda 47" policies is that they shouldn't even be "political".

You have to be a fvcking idiot to oppose:

Lower taxes
Energy independence (fossil fuel, nuclear, whatever...)
No foreign wars
Less regulation
Less censorship
Less fed govt interreference/more freedom
Any "America First" policies

Only an idiot would oppose these... but hey, America does offer the opportunity to be an idiot if you so choose (unlike many other countries)... so let your freak flag fly... but dont force it on me or expect me to pay for it!

(And people tried to call me out for saying that this thread would devolve into POLITICAL THREAD 2.0…

😂😂😂)

Not sure if you're aware, but if you don't like a thread, you have every right to ignore it.

this is one of the message board traits that has always made me scratch my head...

When you go to the mall (or used to), do these people go in every store just because it's there? No, you go to the stores you want to purchase something from and/or look at something in. Same principle here. Given the time of the post and the title, NO ONE was fooled by what was on the inside.

Now, it might be different if every thread was an elon musk/twitter topic, but it's one, MAYBE two, that actually get all the posts. Not to mention that every post just pushes the topic they hate, or don't want to see, back to the top.

Guess i'll do my part...back to the top it goes.

I “walked in” because I thought there might actually be some interesting conversation about Twitter. Which is a platform I used to generally enjoy for sports news, entertainment, and even the occasional national news update.

But, just as I predicted after reading the first few posts, it turned into a stupid political debate.

That a good enough explanation for you?

I just wanted an update from all the posters in the original “OT: Twitter in Absolute Shambles” thread who claimed Elon made a terrible investment and destroyed Twitter.

Why are you still here? Why do you care what it has now evolved into?

Alert: for folks reading this thread, we have now uncovered another Democrat. Hates the fact that she can't control us, but yet wont leave... has to be frustrating lol.

As traditionally conservative as anybody as you will find. Just don’t like what this country has become. Hatred fueled by anger and meanness.

On both sides.

I grew up in a time when even if you didn’t agree with the “other side,” you at least respected them. I don’t agree with most, hell if any, blue policies. But I know all of us hating each other because of that is not the answer.
