An MRI revealed a very crooked blood vessel thought to be responsible for the bleed. MRI shows a very crooked blood vessel responsible for the bleed. They think there is a chance to place a stent in the weak part in about a week or so. Need her to get stronger to tolerate the procedure.

Another area of the brain showed a tumor, but Oncologist says not a tumor, maybe a stroke

Will get some more info and decide in a week or so, assuming we get that far.

If she survives there will be some loss of motor skills and cognitive function. We have to ween her off pain meds and paralytic before we can start getting a picture of that.

Information comes fast and some is slow. We are trying to make decisions that she would want made.

Like I said earlier, kids are battlers. Hang in there man!

Hospital stays are always hurry up and wait.

Still praying for you and your family.

Glad you are getting ok results and answers.

The frustrating thing I went through with Mom was they couldn’t find a reason for her reoccurring infection which led to her Encephalopathy, which of course ultimately led to her death.

I too am a solutions guy. But I have problems challenging doctors and experts sometimes. Because you know they are doing all they can but it’s your family.

Please keep us updated with ongoing info as you can. I hope the neuros continue to give you good news.

If you have to go coils and/or stent, request Medtronic (my company). I work hard to make sure the manufacturing processes for our neuro coils, stents and delivery systems are the best in the world.

Depending on the application for revascularization she will require, perhaps the Solitaire X system (made in Irvine CA, not overseas). Your docs will make the call, but most times family can request the brand.

Keep going strong!

It is really hard to find words to fit feelings right now. Although we have never met, I feel as if I know you and Sarah now. I have been thinking of you guys since reading the original post, updates, and other responses here. I continue as others to pray everyday for her recovery and for your family's need for comfort and support at this time. Stay strong for her (as if you need to be reminded) as we also try to help with our prayers in support. God Bless.

Hey guys, earlier tonight my 14 y/o daughter had a seizure. She is having emergency brain surgery right now.
Hate to hear that and you'll be in my prayers. Our dog (who is like our other kid) is epileptic. What makes epilepsy bad is that nobody can pinpoint why they happen.

Hope everything turns out great for your daughter. Mine is almost 17. I could've even imagine.

Glad to hear the bit of good news UK GRAD!!

The ENTIRE BBN is behind Sarah and your entire family!!

I SOOO want her to heal and recover; I lost my eldest son 4 years ago, and no one, not even someone's worst enemy, should have to endure that.

As others have stated, if you need anything buddy, we WILL make it happen, count on it.

More important than any recruit, for sure.

Prayers continue... May His hand be upon Sarah, your family and may he provide the special insights needed to her doctors and staff...

We tease and rip on each other —but I love how folks are coming together for UKGrad93. He came here for support and glad he’s got a place to go (not just here). Real life stuff.

I pray the best for her.

I was coming to say the exact same thing
This is why I’m proud to be part of the BBN

We are continuing to pray for Sarah. We also pray for @UKGrad93 and his wife and family that they have strength, comfort and peace.

Brother, if there’s anything at all that I can do to help, just let me know. Run an errand, pick up food, feed your pets...etc. Please don’t hesitate to ask. Just PM me and I’ll do whatever I can to help.

You have all been such a blessing.

Sarah is continuing her fight. The last day and night have been somewhat steady. The docs and nurses are constantly tweaking her medications and so forth to find just the right balance. They are dancing a fine line and are doing a tremendous job with it.

Kev69, we are about 500 miles from Lexington, so while I have no doubt that you would come here and mow my yard , walk the dog or check my mail, I’m gonna decline. So even though we’re far from a lot of family and our Wildcat friends, we’ve been surrounded by some good local people that have been able and willing to take care of things.

But this brings up a point that I discussed with one of Sarah’s favorite teachers yesterday. I told Mr. James about this board and he made the observation about how we can really see each other’s better selves.

Sarah has required some blood while she’s been here and as you know, summer is when supplies run a little lower. So if you’re able donating blood would be a good “boots on the ground “ thing you could do.

Having said all that, at some point it will be time to get back to business as usual around here with bad jokes, crap takes and the general humor that makes ordinary days worthwhile.

Until then, PEACE,

-93.

Man my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I’m in the hospital dealing with a PE right now, so I understand somewhat what you and your family are going through. I hope and pray she makes it through stronger than ever, and recover very soon. She’s in good hands.
