Don't know if this has been posted, or if it was just reported. Seems he checked in last Wed. I imagine many in the Browns organization wish they had that draft pick back

Hope Johnny Football gets it all together and overcomes.

Awful pick when they made it. No wonder the Browns are stuck in Groundhog day.

Give Johnny Football my phone number, I know something about being a first round pick and rehab..

Signed,

Ryan Leaf..

Interesting development. Not that it happened. But when it happened. Often you see this following some major incident that causes a PR crisis. Doesn't seem to be the case here; or so it seems.

Be interesting to see if anything is leaked in the coming days. Would be pleasantly surprised if the young man just woke up and decided he needed treatment.

Agreed. Would make him much more appealing to the public eye. Might even go as far as to say that he could earn his way into the good graces of the people. Wouldn't hurt him at all.

Agreed but this has been a slow developing thing. From the fights at the club, to the constant drinking, to that SI article that already is showing doubt from his teammates that he's not committed to football. Maybe something happened and the Browns & Manziel agreed to go to rehab to keep it quiet but I'm more in the camp that this rehab stint came directly from the Browns even though they are being very coy here. As sad as it is, this is their franchise QB and I think they pressured Manziel into seeking help. It will be interesting to see if he takes it serious. I said it last year when everyone talked about his talent. A QB is a leader of a franchise and no one wants to play with a goofball as their leader when their livelihood is on the line.

he's a professional athlete ... he is the property of a sports business... if they feel they paid for a caddy but got a lemon they'll go through the fixit process ... and then if that don't work trade him for another something new... he'll still be worth a lot of money on paper but as the years pass will degrade quickly do to a lack of attention... happens a lot when you buy that flashy red sports car.... i could give a damn what happens to him... just another case of a person pissing opportunity in the eye.

Why would anyone be surprised that this kid has gone to excess and is out of control. He was already that way in college and now that he has millions more than he was being paid at Texas A&M he can afford what ever he wishes. Drugs, Alcohol, Wild Hos. This was predictable and why a lot of teams passed on him.

Whether one likes him or not, let's hope for JM's sake the stint in rehab will help him conquer whatever demons he has and be able to get his life together.
