Local sports radio is breaking their backs bending over backwards, making excuses, saying it wasn't a choke losing to an awful Stanford team when up 29-0 at half because CU is an 'expansion' team and no one should expect them to be very good this year, etc. It's sickening.

Deion could do no wrong and now they're making lame excuses for a pitiful performance last night. No team should lose when up 29 points at half.

I think the media is kissing his ass too much but I would take him in a heart beat if Stoops were to leave.

Eh, he'll get a total pass this year. I'm not sure how long the cheerleader coach thing will work for him. You'll see people becoming more impatient if it continues in the next couple years. I honestly don't think he'll stay much longer than his kids.

Well...Deion can do no wrong in year 1....I do see him losing 4 of his last 5 for a not too shabby 5-7 record in year 1.

But 5-7 isn't really an amazing feat as many will make it out to be.

2022 1-11
2023 4-8
2021 4-2 (covid)
2020 - 5-7 Mel Tucker season
2019 5-7
2018 5-7

So if Deion goes 5-7....it's a good year 1 but not earth shattering stuff as that is about what the Buffs have done over a 5 year period.. Plus, he's got a 53rd ranked recruiting class right now...so he's not exactly tearing it up. And not a ton of the high rated kids are OL/DL which is what they need badly.

But watching the media is always wild. Will they fairly assess a black head coach in Sanders (even though the last 2 coaches were black as well)? I tend to doubt it.

I like Deion but it sure looks like he got a lot of credit for beating two mediocre bordering on bad teams at the start of the year.

You mean to tell me that local sports reporters are playing up the home team? An unbelievable turn of events.

Eh I've always liked Deion. And he's done a good job, plus his team is entertaining as hell. But you can't be blowing 29 point leads.

You're right, but trying to paint that debacle last night as anything other than a historically bad choke (worst in CU history, BTW) is comical. Call it what it was and not try to make lame ass excuses.

That's a terrible idea. The idea is to keep fans interested so they keep watching your reports. It's how they make their living.
