Since we played them last two years, and their fans seemed like really good folks, I have been sort of following the Hawkeyes for fun. They gained less than 300 yards in their opener but won, and last Saturday was another classic Iowa win: Gained a whopping 235 yards, but got a pick six TD and won 20-16 with one offensive TD and two FGs.

Man, their games must be like going to get a root canal, but Ferentz now has 200 wins in his career, so they have learned how to make it work, especially given their limited recruiting base. One thing you can count on is that I bet no one on their schedule looks forward to playing them.

Glad you brought this thread back, 76 yards and four first downs????

If Kirk F won't fire his son, then they need to fire dad, just ridiculous for a B10 team to be that inept on offense.
Nooooooooo, We want Dad there till he's using a scooter to get up and down the sidelines. We don't need any temptation for Stoops to want to head over to his Alma mater. You want a B10 school he would actually listen to, Iowa has to be one.

My God!!

They could do better hiring a good high school coach who knows how to teach the triple option, and then recruit two star players to run it.
I've never been a football coach at any level and I feel like I could have coached them to at least 100 yards of O by closing my eyes and randomly calling whatever play my fingers landed on.

Another dreadful stat from Iowa's game vs PSU: Penn State ran 97 plans vs. Iowa's 33. That's a 64 play difference. Or, looked at another way, the DIFFERENCE in plays run in that game is > UK's average number of plays. Now, that's some kind of bad offense.

Wow.

That’s damn near impossible.

This year’s Iowa squad might set some nasty records for offensive inefficiency.

Freakin' embarrassing offense. It's a disgrace that a P5 team should have this bad of an offense. Last among all P5 this year and last year in total offense and 3rd down efficiency. I could put 11 sixth grade girls on defense and stop this unimaginative, predictable, 1975 junior high offense.

When he gets fired I'd love if UK hired Brian Ferentz as our O line coach

So you're saying you're not satisfied with the offense so far? 😎

That's hard to believe. 3 to 1 plays ran, did they have a 1st down?

Iowa wide recievers have 14 catches through 4 games. 14, for the position who's job is to catch passes!! Is the RB & TE the primary/secondary read on virtually every called pass play?

You are allowing your (deserved) disappointment to influence your commentary to point of exaggeration and sheer hyperbole!!

I don’t think it would take all eleven 6th grade girls!!

Since we are looking at stats... I see you play discrepancy and raise you with this STAT.

PSU ran more plays on offense than the IOWA offense had in TOTAL yards gained !!

I don't think I've ever seen that...let alone b/t two power five teams.
