77 years ago today the beach heads of Normandy were stormed, ultimately changing the course of the war on the European front and, helping bring to an end Nazi Tyranny.

We are losing WWII vets by the day and, its estimated the number still alive that stormed the beaches number in the hundreds. My grandpa was their 6 hours after the invasion started and, I can't imagine what that must have been like but, thank god for him and all the others that were there. If you have the opportunity to thank a WWII vet, do it while you still can. The world we live in today, was largely built on their sacrifices.

I always try and listen to Eisenhower's message to the troops on this day. Extremely powerful. Carry on and happy Sunday to all.
