OT: 14-3 Wildcard 5 seed

The NFL has to change that garbage. Im not a fan of either team, but the loser of the Vikings/Lions game next week falls all the way down to a 5 seed Wildcard with a 14-3 record.

Been this way forever. Titans went 13 and 3 way back n 2000 and had to play as a wildcard team.

I agree it needs to change asap. It's archaic and dumb.

Baseball does it the same way.

Want a home game? Win your division. Some divisions will be tougher than others every year. Lord knows we've seen it with the NFC over the last decade where the divisions all take turns of being superior. One year the NFC East is awesome and then soon after it sucks.

I mean we've seen playoff teams like the 08 Patriots miss the playoffs with an 11-5 record while an 8-8 division champ gets in. There's not a better solution while emphasizing the importance of winning divisions.

We've seen teams win three road playoff games on the way to a Super Bowl appearance.

2020 Bucs
2010 Packers
2007 Giants
2005 Steelers
1992 Bills
1985 Pats

The 4 seed is usually the weakest. Usually works out.

“Winning divisions” is also a total joke. You can have a losing record against divisional teams but beat everyone outside of the division……and “win the division.”

Yeah I think either team won't have issues with tampa or Atlanta.

It's just like the cupcakes that got byes n the playoff for winning tomato can conference and cupcake city conference. Shockingly Vegas has Penn state and Texas as heavy favorited over them. The rules are dumb but won't save them.

Yeah that's insane. Detroit or Minny is getting straight screwed. Have 14-15 wins and be on the road at Washington or Tampa?? No thanks, JD and BM are hot hot hot right now

I hate Minny, love Detroit but I'm afraid their defensive injuries are gonn catch up with them. Purdy torched them last night. Idk love to see Detroit or Buffalo get a Super Bowl

But yes sir. You are correct, NFL playoffs needs updated. Screw divisions, go on overarall record. An 18 game regular season should matter more. Just overall record

College is harder as 75% of your schedule is your conference where as in the NFL, your in division schedule is 50% of your schedule.

Buccaneers have a good offense. But pretty inconsistent team overall and a weak defense. They beat Detroit early in the season then lost six of eight games (five of those were by one score). They have won five of their last six now.

But I assume we will see Detroit in the conference title game against the Philly/Minnesota winner.

I’d be curious to see the conference champs seeding over the last 10-20 years. I’d say most were one or two seeds.

I've been saying I hope it's Buffalo and Detroit as I'd enjoy the game and be happy for either team winning.

Division games are only 6 of 17 games.

Me too, I’m rooting for Detroit or Buffalo all the way.
