Oscar Cluff to Purdue

More players will enter the portal. If you think that Kentucky is bad shape, well Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Arkansas, Georgia , Kansas, Duke, UNC and many other schools have not got anyone yet from portal yet….

Most of blue bloods and big programs are having the discussion with the players this week or next week after final four on who is staying / going.

Than will see more pieces moving.

April 7 is also an important date from the hearing on NIL / revenue sharing remedies…..

This is an interesting year, considering that is last year of Covid and first year of 15 scholarships ….Could we have a miscalculation on number of players exiting vs players recruited so far from HS? Could this add more pressure on portal and force team to consider less viable option from portal and even juco players , international and even some 2-3 stars from hs that have not been recruited yet?

Duke? Really? They will have who they want on top of their elite class. A lot of guys are gonna wait until the final four to commit

I just find it hard to believe these players are picking these average at best schools over KY. Either KY isn’t really interested and didnt make an offer or they are just not being competitive with an offer. I’d

I would think so, just odd the guys we at least had zoom meeting with we didn’t even make the final 5. That makes me think a lot of the public info was feelers. Just hope they know of players coming soon. Just letting everyone know, lots of the top 10 ranked guys so far off the board.

He's looking for the biggest payday.
All his schools are major conference schools who are rebuilding.
He's hoping one of them will be willing to overpay like Washington did last year for Osobor.

You can tell who the nil players are just by seeing recurring schools come up. Its also telling UK is rarely on that list.

Its all about the money. We might get a slight discount for prestige and system fit; but it obviously isnt much. We had to overpay to get jasper and he was a legacy kid.

UK just isnt the nil player this board and other homers are making us out to be.

We really need a new ad that will divert at least some of the coveted athletic department donations and non revenue pet projects into basketball and football nil; or we will just keep playing moneyball while watching the top nil teams stay ahead of us.

There's a man across the hall
Who sits starin' at the floor
And he thinks he's Hank Williams
Hear him singin' through the door
There's a girl in 202
Who stops by to visit me
And she talks about her songs
And the star that she should be
There's a lot of real fine talent
Stayin' in or passin' through
And for one thing or another
They're committed to Purdue

In regards to Davidson, he played HS at Mater Dei in the LA area and was said to be Musselman's #1 portal target but USC didn't make the cut.
That tells me he's strictly looking for the biggest payday for his final season of college.
IMO a coach can't let a kid tell him what he's worth. The coach has to make the decision of what a kid is worth to the program.
If not the school will overpay for every player they get.
By getting a kid solely on being the high bid, you run the risk of signing the next Hunter Dickinson type character who could care less about the school.

I’m not sure today’s college-aged kids see much difference between “these average at best” schools and UK (especially those from foreign countries). Hell, they all saw Purdue reach the National Championship game just last April, but are likely too young to remember our last title.

I don’t think blueblood status provides the same advantages it once did. Today’s recruits don’t care what your program did way back before they were born, they only care what it’s gonna do for them right now.

Every school is overpaying for every player they get, including us. Thats the nature of this market. I agree you have to find the right fit too, but it has to be a sliding scale otherwise we're just a really good team instead of great.
