well we have to agree to disagree because I would say regardless of what your opinion may be that simply isn't true. Bowl games have always been for the program, not players and only a handful of teams play for something truly meaningful in terms of hardware. It used to be only two did and now it has expanded and expands again next year. There is a lot of money earned for being in this and extra development time. The bowl games are crucial to program success and if anyone says the opposite they do not understand college football. Its not about the fans. Also, I find it Ironic that with our history, anyone would complain about any bowl game. Our fans act like we are a powerhouse in football and in reality we been to just over 20 in over 100 plus years of football. This bowl is actually way better than we deserved. Kids have always opted out even before the portal. People should stop trying to find the negative and enjoy the positiveBowl games don't mean much anymore, regardless of what your opinion may be. That's all there is to it.
well its not a contract for one, but if it were they could also hold schools accountable for not delivering on promises.Nil deals should have in the contract that you forfeit all moneys if you opt out of any games.
I think part of the apathy last year was from having to play Iowa for the second year in a row. That could have been avoided and didn't make sense regardless of what bowl it was.Was hoping having a big named opponent might keep more players from quitting on the team. That's why I wouldn't waste money to go see an undermanned team potentially look like crap. That Iowa game was bad enough last year. Not worth the money in this economy to pay to see that happen again.

It was hinted here that he was considering playingI thought Davis was still unsure?
