Opinion: This is the "Normal" for UK Football

The game started with UK going 3-out; punt block; botched FG attempt. Then, we hit a hot stretch fueled by blitzing LB's causing Pressure and turnovers which we turned into points. Right before half time, we came back down to earth, gave up a long TD pass, and went into halftime with a huge loss of momentum.

It wasn't so much us getting handled in the second half as it was us getting handled THE ENTIRE GAME except for one hot stretch. Then, USM stopped playing into our hands and decided to just line up and pound us...

Like every team we play eventually does...

And we had no answer.

Like always, we had no answer.

But once they decided to just pound the run, it was over.

Like always, it was over.

UK didn't play horribly in the 2nd half: they played and coached like they really are the whole game. They just got lucky and hot in one stretch early and we all thought THAT was the new norm, when in fact it was an aberration.

The norm for UK football is not the 28-0 run in 1st-2nd quarters...it is the rest of the game.

That is where we are, in spite of an admitted increase in talent. The blame can only fall upon the coaching staff.
