One top recruit and Hooker U starts talking trash...

Didn't imply it makes Louisville the better program. But the argument being made was that due to recent (lack of) success, Pitino must have realized he had to change his recruiting approach.

His recruiting approach has been pretty consistent for the past decade plus, before and after Kenny Johnson coming on board.
Most reasonable people (translation: not Louisville fans) would argue that he changed his approach. Could argue that he had to hire Johnson to make up for the fact that it would no longer be feasible to hire hookers for the children he was recruiting.

LOL... who has Cal "developed"?

The Harrison twins?

Anthony Davis? Because he really needed that semester on a college campus to be a successful NBA player. Thank God for Cal's development here.
The same Anthony Davis that wasn't as good as Blackshear? #whores Samuels was ranked similarly to Davis. How's his NBA career going?

Being 7ft tall and a top 5 prospect does guarantee a lottery pick. And yes, KAT was always projected as an early NBA draft pick, even while in HS. #1 overall? Maybe not. But up there.

Mahmoud and Stockman? Both were always big time projects, and everybody - including Louisville fans - is/was well aware of that.

Samuels would have been a better argument, but in reality he was an undersized C that never had F skills.

According to Rivals ranking Devin Booker was ranked 1 spot higher than Shaqquan Aaron. Who developed who better? One went first round and one got the hell out of town.

I don't know how someone would know anything about what a recruit was doing such as "begging." I doubt it.

The article does have some merit. Cal is future focused with recruiting and I find it hard to believe any other coach isn't. But, the article does give us insight onto how opposing coaches will try to counter Cal's recruiting style with this spin that he is off doing other things. However, if RP is truly that involved with the players then it ruins any defense that he didn't know about Minardi Hall and the strippers. Personally, I still don't think he was aware. I just can't imagine why he would need to have been involved with that. So, that tells me his involvement with the players is like most other major head coaches. They will coach the practices for the group but most of the individual drills are done by the assistants as well as the day-to-day relationship building. It is like a small Corporation and Cal is the CEO. The CEO has a chain of command and delegates, but still will hold joint meetings. I doubt there is one difference in how Cal, Rat, Williams, RP, or any major head coach handles the role.

There's no chance Pitino didn't know what was going on. These coaches know everything happening in their program. You think he went all those years in the dark? Yea ok.

Pretty funny how Cal takes these 5 star Freshman, just rolls the ball out, and still beats that ass about every year.

Hell yes Pitino knew. There's no way Andre McGee masterminded all of it without word getting out. And he sure didn't bankroll it all either. He was in Kansas City when someone in Louisville contacted him about getting "entertainment " for Antonio Blakeney. Obviously that someone was a coach on UofL's staff. It wasn't just a rogue member of the staff like Jurich and Pitino are claiming.

And a National Championship (laughable if you think the NCAA will or even should remove that... take off the blue goggles, smh).
Name me one time where the NCAA found that a student athlete or prospective student athlete was provided with impermissible inducements and/or extra benefits (by a coach or staff member no less), and that also did not result in the player being declared ineligible, and the games he participated in vacated.

The NCAA may not be very consistent..... but this is one area where I don't believe they have ever waivered. UofL should be shaking in their boots about losing that title. Instead they think they are just looking at Pitino being suspended for a few games.

Are you being serious? You won't count the good players because they are good but throw the Harrison twins out there. Well they are both in the NBA aren't they. Where is Chane Behanan right now? He was a high rated player. How did he develop? How about Peyton Siva? Surely he must have a great NBA career going right now. Where exactly is he by the way?

Sadly...
UNCheats (hopefully that is corrected)
Puke (Magette sp?)

Thought there were a couple of others, didn't UCONN get away with something?

Your point is well taken though. The fact that the coward threw out blue tinted glasses is especially ironic!

Funny stuff. From that guy's comments, you would think UL would have better pros playing in the NBA. Developed for what? Overseas basketball?

This is the type of delusional thinking that these hooker fans use all the time!!

I really hate this term but re: 80Cards86, he gone!

Couldn't take facts and logic, most linebeards can't. lol

NCAA never made findings, never opened an investigation on Duke/Magette.

The UNC punishment hasn't concluded yet.

It's important to remember the NCAA made specific findings of extra benefits and impermissible inducements against UofL. That is very significant. And why I would be terrified if I were a redbird fan.

But, but, they didn't gain any sporting advantage since none of the recruits were sleazy enough to come to a school that would buy cheap hookers for them!! Never mind the best 4-5 year run that the Pimp has had there!

Yeah, that argument is about as dense as you can get. I'm not sure why UofL fans are buying it.

First, Montrezl Harrell and Terry Rozier were both recipients as recruits. And many of the players already on the team took full advantage of the "benefits."

Also, What was the competitive advantage gained by UMass with Camby taking extra benefits? He was already on the team.

Preach on brother! I kind of like being devils advocate and getting the truth although I have a bad taste in my mouth and my IQ feels like it dropped by half acting like one of those idiots!

Someone needs to educate this writer... and most of you.

Pitino has gotten plenty of talent of Bowen's caliber before Kenny Johnson was an assistant.

Earl Clark, Wayne Blacksheer, Samardo Samuels, Chane Behanan, Peyton Siva, to name a few. All Top-25 guys/McDonalds All-Americans.

And to the poster above, talking about how Pitino is changing his recruiting style because he's been getting these so-called beat downs? Louisville beat UK last season and has a more recent nati. Just saying.
Did you just name 5 McDonald's AA's? That's pretty impressive! Wait, you meant in his entire career at Louisville...oops.

Umm, yeah. He sure did need that one semester.

Bowen all but begged for an offer from UK/Cal and never got it
you have to ask yourself why Cal never wanted the kid
They need not be named...will have their butt handed to them (not named Katrina Powell)...they have to feel good about something (not named Katrina Powell)

Not really, I have the year book that shows he wasn't even a top 10 recruit...
