I was browsing the thread talking about Cal having a double standard regarding certain players. I believe that thread was specifically about Willis. Right or wrong he absolutely does have a double standard and anyone who denies it it is just wearing their blue blinders. He admitted it with his own words regarding Skal. He said I am not coaching him like a one and done now but like he is a normal player. Ok Who are the normal players? Willis, Humphries, Dom, Wynward, matthews basically anyone he doesnt believe is gone after a year. He definitely has a shorter leash with these players and does not always play the player that is the best developed at this current moment or humphries would have been getting all of Skals minutes as he was light years ahead of skal with his back to the basket but he knows Humphries is not going anywhere so he can afford to let him ride the pine. I can see how this would be very discouraging to a "normal player" ie Willis last year saying he just gave up. He knew there was nothing he could do to get the minutes of the the NON Normal players. Cal may not promise any players anything but he does have a vested interest in making sure supposed one and dones are just that, one and done, to insure that the best recruits keep flowing into the program.
