Ole Miss Coach Andy Kennedy on Tyler Ulis: "I think he’s the best point guard in college basketball.

Ulis overcomes his lack of size with the following:
A. Jumping ability. Guy can probably dunk it at 5'9.
B. Basketball IQ....Ulis' court awareness is 2nd to none.
C. Vision.
D. Speed. Ulis is a blur with the basketball.
E. Passing ability.
F. Shooting ability.
G. Upper body strength...Tyler can take a hit and still finish.

Anyone that thinks Ulis wont be a lotto pick is kidding themselves.

And I guess your saying that because of his size? Name 3 point guards in college basketball who are better than him.

If I had to bet, you were banned very early on and have now returned after the lift. Be interesting to see how long you stay this time.

Name a PG his size that's ever gone in the lottery.

OK. 5'3" Muggsy Bogues was the 12th pick in the draft, which is considered a late lottery pick. Hell, Ulis towers over Muggsy.

That said, I agree that Tyler's size will prevent from ever being a lottery level pick. But he has proven that he's an NBA caliber guard. He'll get drafted and, imo, have a pretty damn good career as a solid backup PG in the League.

Nate Robinson was the highest sub 6' to ever go. .

Wrong. Just off the top of my head I can think of a few sub 6 footers drafted higher than Robinson, including Muggsy Bogues, Ty Lawson and Calvin Murphy. And I'm guessin there've probably been others.

Ulis will be a serviceable backup PG in the NBA for years. He won't be a lotto pick and won't be a star. He is no John Wall, Bledsoe or Knight.

LOL, "can probably dunk". Never stop trying to pump up the BBN KWilt.
Problem is the talent level in the NBA is not going to allow Tyler to operate the way he does at the college level. He is not going to be able to get those easy buckets in the paint like he does in college. Tyler has limitations and sunshine pumpers such as yourself (I mean that in the nicest way possible) need to look at things in a non-biased light sometimes.

This thread is full of retard.

Tyler will be a lottery pick? Wtf? I got 20 grand, right now that says he will be lucky to be a first rounder.

Any takers?

Didn't think so.

oops, GMTA

FWIW - I think Tyler gets drafted first round; but not lottery. Nate Robinson was picked at 21 in the 2005 draft. If Tyler keeps up the play we've seen the last few games, he could get there; but because of his height, no higher. It sucks for him, because he really does have the heart of a lion - but it is what it is.
That being said - because of his talent, basketball IQ and work ethic, he'll have a solid NBA career.

Just my opinion

Yea I'd be glad to put 20 grand that he's a first rounder! The only dumbass on this board is you

And again in this thread we have people who think failure to be a lottery pick is a bad thing.

BB1992, I love your enthusiasm for Tyler and the Cats. He's a great college PG and will be an NBA player. I hope you're right and he goes in the lottery. But let it go, this thread has run its course. None of us want to argue against Tyler but your inability to even consider other positions is making you seem like an ass.

No I haven't ever been banned. You know nothing about me. What does that have anything to do with what was being talked about? Idiot

I don't care what you think dude. All I ever said is if he keeps playing like this I could see him being drafted earlier that's it.

I'll give him credit, he knows what a good college pg looks like but he doesn't know squat about the league. If he was 6'2", shot 40% from 3 point range and averaged 6 APG he would be a POSSIBLE lottery pick but he's nowhere near those figures.

Allen Iverson was the first pick in the 1996 draft. I know he's listed at 6' and 165lbs but we all know he's not that tall.
Since when does 5'8" = 6'?
I hate this because it looks like I'm trying to knock Tyler down but all I'm doing is being real. Tyler will not be a lottery pick and I'll bet any amount of money on that fact. Tyler can overcome a lot of obstacles by playing harder and smarter than everyone else but his size is too much to overcome when you are talking about the NBA draft lottery. He can, and probably will be a first rounder and we should all be extremely happy that we had a player at UK that was a 1st round pick that is only 5'8" and only played 2 years. That's a heck of an accomplishment.

Tyler's game really resembles AI as well....

It will be the same thing. They are taller, Tyler is better. He'll be fine in the NBA. Lots of crap PG's there.
That is an interesting thought. If you are open to following that same line of discussion, what NBA PG's is Ulis better than? I'm open to your response.
