I'm very happy to see he got ten assists. I didn't think he got there because our guys kept missing shots. He continues to penetrate and get the ball to guys for easy baskets. What an amazing kid. I can't say enough about him.

I'd have to agree. I think were seeing Ulis playing himself into being a lottery pick in the draft this year.

Ulis is great but there's like a 1% chance he goes in the lottery.
Myself, I wouldn't bet against Tyler...as Jay Bilas said "he has a heart five times bigger than most people's." The kid is a winner and you can't teach that. If AP, with all of his size and athleticism, had inside what Tyler has he'd be a top five pick.

And I guess your saying that because of his size? Name 3 point guards in college basketball who are better than him.

I'd rather see him go to the Spurs, Warriors, Cavs, Thunder, etc. He is going to be the change-of-pace PG for any team. I highly doubt he's ever a true starting PG in the league.

Well where you want him to get drafted and where he's gonna be drafted are two different things lol. My point being is there ain't 3 (probably not any) point guards in college baskebtall I would draft before Ulis with the way he's been playing, which would make him a lottery pick.

It's a good thing you're not a GM for an NBA franchise.
Look, we all love Tyler, he very well could be the best pg in college but he does have limitations and most of those limitations are due to his height. I highly doubt he will be a lottery pick but he will be a first rounder if he stays healthy and continues to play this well. I know that probably hurts you to read that and you aren't going to agree with it but just because he's the best pg in college doesn't mean he's a lottery pick and it also doesn't mean 5 other pg's won't be taken ahead if him. Chris Dunn will probably be taken ahead of Tyler because they may feel he has more potential.

Um yeah, it is because of his size. Tyler is going to have to continue to prove himself at every turn just because he is so short.
Come on man if you don't Tyler has proved himself by now, you need to find another sport to watch. Hell he's one of the best players in college basketball and if you can't see that then I'm sorry.

What are his limitations then? He can shoot, pass, makes good decisions, and is actually a decent rebounder for his size.

You're right, you are sorry.
Being the best pg in college doesn't mean squat in the draft.
No, I don't need another sport to watch but I do suggest you take the blue shades off and learn what NBA franchises are interested in before you spout off about something you obviously know nothing about. You have no idea what you're talking about. College basketball is great but the NBA is a totally different game and Tyler will not be a lottery pick. Accept it and move on. There are too many guys that will be in the draft that have potential that Tyler can't match.

Th problem is he just doesn't have to size to guard someone like Wall or Kyrie on a consistent bases. I would compare him to Isaha Thomas (Current Celtics one) but he is more athletic than Tyler. He will make a good pro and will have a long career. But he will not go in the lottery no matter how good he is in college. Thomas put up crazy numbers and he was the last pick in the draft. Tyler will have to prove everyone wrong after the draft, which I think he can do.

Disclaimer: I do think he is the best pure point in college. Dunn being the best prospect.

We all agree Tyler is fabulous and is the heart of our team. Lottery? I'm a doubter...but that doesn't make be a hater..

Since when does being one of the best players in college have anything to do with being a lottery pick.

Two completely different things. And no in this thread has disagreed that Tyler is one of the top players in college this year. There is no inconsistency in believing he is best PG in college but not a lottery pick.

Heck, the league is full of guys that can pass and shoot. You think Moody can shoot a little bit?
Again, the NBA pulls college players based on potential and right not Ulis is much closer to his ceiling than most other first rounders. If you're an NBA GM are you putting lottery pick type money on a 5'8" guy or are you going to take a guy like Ben Simmons who has an NBA body and skills that nobody else in college can match? There are too many guys that will be in the draft that have size, athleticism and skill for Tyler to be considered for the lottery.

Close to his potential? Really? He's a sophomore in college so he's probably 19. If you think he's as good as he's gonna get that's crazy. And your comparing a point guard to a power forward...that really makes sense. There's no doubt Simmons is the best player in college basketball and I never said Ulis would be the first pick in the draft but there's other draft spots in the lottery in case you didn't know. And you never did answer my question..what are his limitations?

Ok then why would a sophomore point guard who is still young and is gonna get better and is the best point guard in the country who didn't even start his freshman year not be a lottery pick?

We'll just have to see but I disagree. You named one point guard who is a better prospect. Are you telling me there will only be one point guard taken in the lottery? And apparently you haven't seen many games cause he's proving everyone wrong right now.

Because he is 5'8 end of story. You don't watch many drafts/NBA if you can't realize that. I'll will put any amount of money you will be willing to wager he will not touch the lottery; regardless of how good he is.

Point guard is the deepest position in the league right now. Maybe 1 or 2 starters are sub 6'. And neither of them were lottery picks. History tends to repeat itself. If you were a GM you would need to seek new employment.

Bro I've seen every damn game I never said he wasn't the best. But that doesn't mean he's a lottery pick.

Well bro apparently you fell asleep during most of them cause the only reason your saying he won't be a lottery pick is because of his size which hasn't affected him yet in two years in college basketball playing top competition.

Ya know...for 26 posts, you sure do make a lot of noise. Ease up and be nice. We are on the same team, right? Or are we??

Yeah top competition that will never play in the NBA. If he's a lottery pick then he will have to play major minutes against the BEST players in the world. If he doesn't play any minutes he's wasted pick. Do you honestly think he can guard any starting point guard in the NBA without getting bullied? There is a reason no one is agreeing with you man

It will be the same thing. They are taller, Tyler is better. He'll be fine in the NBA. Lots of crap PG's there.

Exactly he will be a good player in time. Role player time. But to say a team will waste a lottery pick on him over better prospects like Dunn or Tremble (although only Dunn is better) is asinine.

That's a ridiculous comparison. Simmons will likely be #1. That has nothing to do with the discussion.

Well, if the standard is "bullying", no, I don't think Tyler is going to be bullied by anyone. His personality won't allow it. If the standard is, can Tyler guard the NBA PG, that is open for debate. Toughness is not.

Well I agree with you. I was implying he can't guard an NBA point effectively enough for a lottery pick. "Bullied" was just the term I used to illustrate. Not questioning his personality or drive, bad choice of words on my part.

People are saying "Well, he can't guard Westbrook, Wall, or Irving consistently, so his stock is gonna drop" but the reality is, there are no players in the NBA that can lock those guys down, period. None. Even stars have to just try to outscore other stars, because there's little chance that you're going to shut them down.
Tyler Ulis needs to be judged on how well he can guard the majority of the other NBA guards.

It was Coach K who said he had a heart 5x bigger than others. High praise. Ulis is phenomenal.
He's like the opposite of the grinch!

Seriously Tyler is becoming one of my all-time favorites here and I agree that he's THE best point guard in the country. That being said, I think his draft ceiling is late first round-early second. The NBA is bigger, stronger, and faster than college. It's going to be John Wall or Chris Paul that he's trying to guard and that'll be guarding him. Being 5'9" will be a big liability that'll keep him out of the lottery. But what he does have, especially his feel for the game and basketball iq, will make him a solid contributor for a good while.

Completely agree. I actually think he could sneak into the first round if the right team gets the late pick. He indeed will be a solid player for years, but his size in the lottery is a liability regardless of skill. I hope Warriors get him.

Ulis is something special and he's something Calipari desperately needed. I hope he doesn't leave and I think he could be an even better player by staying for an extra year. I'm not sold he's going anywhere and haven't been since cal said he was basically leaving.
