Bc Clemson is still considered a power when they shouldn’t be.

Seems like a situation where Duke is being rewarded for almost beating ND.
I have no issue with them still being ranked but shouldn't be ahead of UK.
Media bias is real with ND as well. Keeping Duke ranked decent helps the Domers. They want those losers n the playoff.

But to have dang near top 20 stock full of pac10 this much is absurd. Every game save Oregon is giving up 30 pts in a win. And ACC ranking are almost as stupid

They throttled Clemson 28-7 and only lost to ND by 7. They are decent. If they can beat Florida State in Tallahassee, then they are legit.

Next season all those teams are gonna play each other and lose so they won't have as many highly ranked.
Same with Texas and Oklahoma joining sec.
12 team playoff will help but gonna be interesting to see how these mega conferences work from season to season.
But is that real? Every year, people say the SEC is down. But the SEC has won 4 national championships in a row and 13 out of the last 17. You are not seeing the SEC down. The SEC will probably win another one. What you are seeing is a rotation of strength within the conference that is always happening. The league's last 4 national championships have been won by 3 different teams. The league's last 13 championships have been won by 5 different teams. This early poll is taken before the meat of the season. I do not pay attention to it. Teams are just now finding their footing.
The real question is….will a 1 loss UK team get in this years playoffs? Or the bias strong enough that a 2 loss Big10+ team get chosen? 😎

-this year, the pac 12 has great offense...against pac 12 defenses not named Utah. Oregon is intriguing.
-was on the UW train...they were underwhelming against a middling Arizona team.
-without Cam Rising...Utah is avg.
-notre dame is *way* overrated. As is ohio.
-penn state and michigan haven't played anyone... but both could be legit.
-texas got bama early, miami got atm early.

-fsu is legit on offense.
-there is more parity in CFB right now than any other time I can remember.

The down talk is about a couple of early season losses by LSU, A & M, and Bama. Those teams are not done. They are ignoring Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri and conveniently forget Texas and Oklahoma are really SEC teams now. LSU and Ole Miss will be tough by November because they lead the league in offense. The teams that are down are Tennessee, Mississippi State, Vandy, and South Carolina but they could be spoilers. Georgia is still the team to beat for the national championship but we will find out more about the Dogs this week.
I’ve only watched duke against Clemson and ND…in both games IMO, the standout player for both teams was the duke QB, Riley Leonard. If that injury he sustained on the last play was season ending, then so goes the blue devils season.
Agree with you though….they are a decent team.
The Sec isn't down per se, it just doesn't have a dominant team like it usually does. Usually you have a deep and talented conference plus 1 or 2 teams just better than everyone else in the country. This year Bama and UGA are just back with the pack of the best teams. That's really the difference. They still may win a title, it's just not a slam dunk like it's been most years.

Wiining the national championship is never a slam dunk. But SEC teams keep winning it.
They would most definitely take a 2 - loss Ohio State, Michigan or Penn State over a 1 - loss Kentucky....simple to say they will choose Money & Ratings. Kentucky would get a very good NY6 Bowl.

Our perspective (or mine) is shaped by 50 years of mediocrity at best.
So when Kentucky thumps a Florida, even I begin to discount Florida.
But that Florida team gave Utah a better game on the road than at our place, and thumped UT at home.
Frankly, I think you have a Top 3 or 4 in the nation (with Bama and Georgia both there), and then the next 15 would be pretty evenly matched . . . . and of the 15, Ole Miss, Kentucky, A & M, Mizzou, LSU, UT and even Florida would likely be included.
So, I would have nine Top 18/19 SEC teams, each of whom is a very tough out at home, and each capable of putting a scare into Bama and Georgia, either at home or on the road.
