Ok, I'm officially done enjoying Cals implosion.

Yeah, the thing is, basketball is a game. I wish Cal health and happiness, but I hope he loses every game he coaches from here on out, and the reason I hope that is because of how he treated the fans and the UK brand. Screw him -- as it relates to the game of basketball. He's richer than any human ever needs to be, so I am confident he will be just fine.
I hope he loses every game at Arkansas. IDK how I would feel if he went to a school that wasn't in the same conference and all that.

If and that's a big if. But say they finish 16-16. Because you know they are gone first game of the SECT.
Does Cal refuse to play in the NIT if they are selected? I don't think a 16-16 record guarantees a NIT bid. Lots of teams will win 20 and not make the NCAAT. Might not be a NIT bid for a .500 team this year.

I’m not. He ran our program into the ground. Thought he was bigger than UK.

There are 4 banners hanging in Rupp because of him, and someday, his name will be alongside them. But until that day, he can lie in the bed he made.
It really is a shame because the 2010–15 stretch was second only to the 1993-98 stretch in my life. But somewhere in there, the game left him behind, and he just lost his fire. You can’t lose the fire but not the ego.

I think once the sting of the last few years wears off, people will gravitate more towards the good than the bad in their minds. But like you said, until then it’ll be nice watching Arkansas suck until he hangs it up. Just a shame; he could have gone out on top.

The bottom line is, Cal focuses on individual goals and accomplishments. If one of his draft picks is struggling, he's going to take however long it takes to get that kid to break through and he is not going to change.

That 'Justin Edwards', or 'BJB' is going to start over better players, because those HS rankings said they were better.

Cal's last 4 teams played completely like disconnected teams that just did their own things. Some teams put it together and looked like a great TEAM for one game here and there, but always went back to individualism.

You can't prioritize individualism and win in today's college basketball. Cal knows this, but he doesn't care.

He got his championship before he lost his passion and before the game passed him by too much. I'll always appreciate him for that. It's a shame he didn't get the 3 titles any good coach would have with those rosters

"To be fair".... Cow got his championship because AD, TJ and Co. were too good to lose (THEY refused to lose.). Cow even went to stall ball in that game but that team was not losing at that point. Few was correct, he just ran out of time due to that team, not Cow. Cow is on the banner and that is fine and great but he did less with more than any coach imaginable. Yep, FF's are great... Cow's passion had nothing to do with that Championship... Yes Cow assembled that team AND TJ came back because of the lockout, fill in the blanks...

Oh it's a no brainer. Look at the talent on Cal's 09-17 teams. Wall, Cuz, Knight, TJ, Lamb, Liggins, AD, MKG, Miller, Randle, Townes, Fox, Monk, Bam, Ulis, Murray, Twins, Young, Lyles, Poythress and on and on.

When you look at the talent Cal was getting during his decline, they aren't on the same scale. I mean, maybe Maxey, Dillingham and Sheppard, but he didn't use them correctly and in some cases, made them secondary players.

But Boston, Hagans, PJ, Richards, Edwards, Wheeler (LOL), Wagner, Sarr, Devin Askew etc… were never good enough to overcome Cal's coaching. He simply stopped getting the players he got in the early years.

But even still, his garbage dribble drive expired 10 years ago.

It is kind of sad, but the man never truly understood what UK is all about. Which is mind boggling to me.
I don’t know about that. Go back on YouTube and watch his press conference when he took the job. He was just like Pope. He was saying all the right things. UK is the gold standard. Greatest fans.
He changed remarkably in 15 years.
That’s why I think this job has a 10 year shelf life.

Remember Arkansas fans posting that they walked in and stole our coach, and we were just jealous and that we had no idea what we were talking about when it came to Cal.

Enjoy that contract..pig sooeee.

Cal refuses to learn his lesson. He won't listen to anyone and refuses to believe he is the issue.

The one thing UK had on the good side last year, was the offense. Cal actually allowed a guy to help with the offense and it was great.

But obviously Cal didn't appreciate it, because Welsh decided to go elsewhere and Cal didn't really seem to care. He obviously just wants to surround himself with Yes-men.

If I was Cal, I would have done everything in my power to keep John Welsh and find someone to help with defensive stuff, but no, he decided to be a dumbass, so he can wallow in his own pig slop. I don't feel sorry for him, because he still thinks it's not his fault.
You would think Cal could of just kept Welsh for offense and then hired a defensive guy, and then he could be even more lazy and just be a CEO/coach/cheerleader of the team. I believe they call those ambassadors, he could of been one of those...lol

Looking at their schedule, they most likely won't win more than 5 in SEC play. If so, thats a 16-15 record with most likely zero signature wins. I'll pick them against USC, Vandy, at home vs LSU, at home vs Texas and at home vs Mizz. Thats crazy bad.

The team and Cal will have packed it up by then and they won't be pulling off any big wins in the SECT.

If that happens a ton of anger will come down on Cal and even Ellen.

If I'm close Cal really needs to have had a talk with the AD about when he prefers Cal to report his retirement. If he continues, wow, it will be difficult to watch.
I think everyone should be concerned about cal. He has some cognitive decline. I hope he doesn’t have dementia from a stroke or something. His decision making has been strange for a while now
