Ohio at Kentucky

There is a mercy rule in effect but we're still 4 runs from that, but interesting that we agreed to it.

Cats go in order in the bottom 6th.

Did I hear Dick Gabriel say that Ohio was having depth issues and that’s why they agreed to the mercy rule.

Strikeout on a cutter but Liebert cant haul it in and it's a strike out WP to allow the leadoff runner on.

K and then a walk. Then a full count walk. Bases loaded 1 out for Ohio. Hudepohl going to come in.

UK got real lucky there. Fly ball into right and Fogel lazily throws it back but the runner doesn't tag up.

Hudepohl gets out of it with a K.

8-2.

Ohio pitcher may be losing it here. Gave up a hard hit ball to center thar went for an out and then a 5 pitch walk.

Wild pitch moves Liebert to second. Thrasher with a good at bat and draws a walk.

This could once again be where it breaks open for UK. Mound visit

Terrible news from Bob Mantooth on MLB negotiations there. But great news from Ryan Ritter....ribeye! 8-3 now

Estep gets under a bit of a hanging curve and pops it up for an infield fly. Danger still real for the Bobcats with Plasty up though.

Fogel hit by a pitch. Ohio should have taken this pitcher out but they have a young staff.

Jump walks to second and no one covers. They send him back as time was still in effect. Anu grounds out to short.

8-6. Going to 8th

UK seems to live for this storyline.... give up big lead. Finally find a pitcher that works and gets you through middle innings. Then come back in 7th+.

Pretty fast inning for Wyatt. Gave up a walk but otherwise clean.

Now Harris walks in the bottom 8. Liebert battling.

This team has some luck at times. Liebert was out with a perfect strike and its called a ball. He gets a full count instead and then gets a single.

Grounder scores a run to make it 8-7. Runners at corners after they IBB Estep

Fogel loves those breaking balls in the dirt. Maybe at some point mingione will realize he’s not a cleanup guy

Strickland coming in. Intersting that they went away from Hudepohl.

Grounder up the middle gets them the leadoff runner on.

Strickland having control issues. They get the bunt down the 1b line and Strick picks it up and gets the tag.

That bunt may not have been the best strategy for Ohio as Strickland walks another. He may have walked the bunter as well if he were patient instead of small ball.

Strickland not scared now, comes right back with a middle fastball. Threw that with authority. He falls behind again though. Then evens it with a bottom of the zone strike. He goes oppo through the right side.

Fogel going to go home and he just falls over. I don't know what happened there. Literally fell over. 9-8 Ohio.

High and outside ball is called a strike for out 2. Big out there. Roszel out. Just a talk this time. Leadoff man on. Big if we limit this damage.

Gabriel says the leadoff guy doesn't have the greatest average... he's hitting .452. Lol

Strickland dialed in now. High strike and then a ball makes it full count. Fastball high strike again, this one spoiled off. Inside pitch and he walks.

Bases loaded again. Second time tonight IIRC.

2 hole hitter and Strickland crosses him up. Good pitch. Liebert saves a run on a breaking ball in the opposite batters box. Foul off of a high fastball. Inside fastball for a K

9-8 Ohio. We go to bottom 9.

Jump, Anu, Harris coming up.
