Official: UK vs. UT Game Thread

I actually disagree with that, especially your 99.9%. Really good quarterbacks have a feel for this stuff, they sense it coming when it doesn’t look like they should. It’s pocket presence.

How many really good QB's are there? Like really good? Then how many QB's are there in NFL and NCAA?

Game is moving too fast for him. Have you seen this “NFL” offense? He can’t keep up.

Granted, it looks like all of UT’s coaching staff is on cocaine. Head coach chomping gum like a mad man, can’t stay off the field, then their off coordinator up there snorting on camera.
Heupel is very active on the sidelines as if he was in the game. Remember he was runner up for the Heisman as quarterback at Oklahoma

More than 0.1% of them.

Mahomes, Allen, Burrow? Who else?

There is a difference between a scrambling QB and a pocket passer.

Fwiw, I am talking about eyes in the back of their head guys. Not the pocket is collapsing time to take off.

Now wait a second, I didn’t say the best of the best of the best. I’m talking about good quarterbacks with pocket presence. Almost every NFL quarterback fits that mold.

Not true at all. The whole thing started with someone saying QB's "brace themselves" (don't think it was you who said that). This comment came on the heels of Will get sacked from behind.

Last year he would have run for it (IMO what he should do), this year he doesn't....coaches, clearly.

Anyhow, when I think pocket presence it isn't "bracing" for a sack, it is knowing everything that is happening and imo very very few have that skill, some better than others but I don't think Levis is some butcher at itz his first instinct is to run- not bad, but it is clear folks are telling him to stop that. Don't like it. Example, Burrow did it and got Bengals to SB based off instinct.

Listen man, I’m a big Will Levis fan. I thought he was going to have a big game tonight. Really did. But there’s something missing there in terms of just QB IQ. His progressions, his pocket presence, his poise in the pocket … it hasn’t been good. In a combine he’ll be the best looking guy out there. But there’s something missing there from a pure quarterback perspective.

Keep thinking gimmicky
Ok. I will. At least until they can do it with a couple more qbs. other schools have tried the hurry up too and they all eventually failed. will this one be different? we'll see. but hooker is perfect for this offense ... or is this offense perfect for hooker.

He’s done it every where he’s coached. His office of coordinator at Missouri, they won two SEC East title Games.Kentucky has never played in one.Not. Ever.

I don't watch the felon league anymore, so I don't really know who that is ... but you're probably right.
He played for Washington when I was like 8 or 9, but he had a strong arm, and people were talking his intangibles instead of actual results. He got drafted by titans and didn’t do much in the NFL

@STL_Cat all I can say is go look at Levi's last year, when he felt pressure he instinctively knew what to do. There are plenty of videos showing it. Through 8 games this year he hardly ever does. So there is either something physically wrong with him, he is being coached to go through max progression and doesn't have time or ability to do it, or he is scared. I don't think it is the last two and I'm not trying to be a smartass.

I mean, I agree he was much better last year. Why that is is anyone’s guess at this point. His o-line was part of that for sure. The line has been bad this year, but even when he’s had time he’s made some really bad and questionable decisions.

Wonder if some of this is the thinking ... "my 'knock' is i don't work through progressions and take off to run too soon ... so, i have to 'prove' that is no longer true"

It wouldn't surprise me. Just like that one coach that f'd up Andre Woodson's throwing motion for one game.

The nerve of some of Kensucky fans to come here and paint on our rock. What I want to know is why the hell you people thought you could come to Knoxville and beat my Vols?
idk, probably bc they did last time and anything can happen with kids playing a game.

Accounting for sacks Levis was +376 with 9 rushing TD's last year. Before tonight, this year he is -49 with 2 TD's (IIRC both goal line sneaks). He was -22 today.

Doesn't make sense. Something has changed.
