They really need to rewrite what is a catch. If I rush, and the ball breaks the plane, play over it’s a touchdown. If I catch it, have control and am inbounds and standing, it’s a td. If I’m falling to the ground, nothing matters unless I hold onto on the ground, even after hitting the ground. What?

Still a catch. Had both feet down in the endzone and the ball secured until he was taken to the ground. If it was diving or a jumping catch where he hadn’t established himself w his feet on the playing field then you need to maintain possession through the ground. But the second he had 2 feet down and full control of the ball the play was over due to endzone rules. No different than a player extending to break the plane and then fumbling

That's completely solid, logical rationale but not the rule. The wr must complete the catch which means something longer than just getting the foot down and something shorter than maintaining possession all the way till handing it back to the ref.

Correct call but imo worth looking at because it was close

Normally I agree at the 50, up 21 start of the 4th, you go for the kill shot here and end the game. But they should be able to get away with it tonight

Rule has needed to be changed for a long time. Running is valued over passing in that situation and that's just not the game anymore. Guys are bigger and stronger and it punishes the offense unnecessarily
