***** OFFICIAL KENTUCKY VS TEXAS GAME THREAD *****

Two of them are possibly our best players. And Kerr becomes very important as he's our backup PG.

Not a lot of teams can win like this. And as I said earlier, it's a road game against a top35 teams in metrics.
Still should’ve won. Texas looks horrible. The game was there for the taking but Texas just wanted it more. Nobody blocking out,. Nobody trying to rebound just ball watching. That’s inexcusable.

Hurt guys or not, absolutely no excuse for what happened the last 4 minutes of the game.

When the hell is Pope going to light these guys up? The nice guy bullshit is for Kindergarten teachers, not UK basketball coaches
He waited too late to take time out and get these guys’hesds on straight. We needed Robindon’s scoring tonight and Butlers leadership, but some og our guys made the absolute dumbest mistakes.

Worst loss of the season. I don’t care who’s injured.

You are correct !!

Lmao

Texas was FAVORED in this game by 4.5 points. Vegas is not in the business of giving away money and certainly knows better than we do who should've won this game.

Could we have won this game? Yes. It was possible. Just didn't finish

If we get healthy (even somewhat healthy, meaning Jaxson & Carr are back 100%), that’s a 4-7 seed that no one wants to see.
And still a 4-7 seed that can lose to anyone we play. It’s what we are this year. Basically an island of misfit toys where our “stars” all have limitations. I love that Pope is here and how fun this team has been, but anyone thinking this is a legit top-10/15 team probably needs to reevaluate things. We can beat ANYONE, but on nights where we aren’t hitting 3s we can absolutely lose to most teams in the tourney, especially if it’s a physical game.

I like your positivity, but Texas is horrible. No matter how banged up Kentucky is, they should not have lost this game.

Effort and urgency was the name of the game
I do not disagree. Texas has one player (plus Mark, who only plays well vs. us). Should have been a 6 point win for the good guys, but Texas wanted/needed it more and we sure didn’t look like we cared much.

Disappointing. But some of you still don’t fully realize we’re playing without our 1 and 2 point guards, our 2 guard, and Carr who was a very valuable piece for this team and is a shell of what he was earlier in the season due to injury. We could have and probably should have pulled this out. I’m just disappointed that the injuries have ruined what could have been a special season.

I usually don't get pissed off, but Pope has been horrible the last few games. Chandler, Brea, and Oweh are turn over machines.

I'm effing mad and losing to the next to last team in the SEC and Pope not calling a timeout after going scoreless just well, we suck period.

Injuries play a role, but turning it over 16 times is unacceptable.

I’m not surprised we lost in a vacuum. Winning a conference road game with what we had out of the lineup was asking a lot. I have to admit that it stings a little more to have been in position to eke out the win only to get blitzed in the last 3 minutes though. Frustrating way to end the night.

no excuses. Texas is trash and we had a 5 point lead late bc of that and still pissed it away bc we got complacent and thought Texas was just gonna quit. That’s on pope. It happens way too often with this team and he’s yet to stop it

I mean, why do you guys think Texas is bad? They aren't. They're a top40 team in most metrics. Who is telling you Texas is bad lol

This was probably the last game we have the chance to win with things the way they are right now. We led for most of the game despite being sloppy and making tons of turnovers, missing free throws and Brea and Carr not giving us much. We STILL could have and should have won this damn game.

We have some dudes that need to get in the damn gym.
If Brea isn't going to hit threes, it telks me he's not putting in the work.
Guys continue to.miss free throws and we continue to give up rebounds.
Freaking gave this away, now you have to go steal one somewhere.
C'mon, you KNOW that guy doesn't put in the work. He doesn't do anything else well, nor does he even try.

It’s a road loss without two starters and Carr being whatever.

Expectations are just too high for what Pope can put on the court
BS, we put ourselves in position to win, then played losing basketball.

We still refuse to rebound, Kobe Brea is lazy, we miss too many free throws and Pope's lineups make zero sense sometimes.

You can't sh&t your pants every other game, but that's what this team does.

Texas plays streetball and they suck. We handed them the game.

Exactly

Kentucky has got to stop following up good wins with bad losses. How many weeks have they gone 1-1/0-2 now in a row? Something like 6. Not acceptable here.
In year 1 and maybe 2 Pope will get mulligans, but if that trend continues they won't allow it to continue. Tubby and Calipar level success is lower-tier stuff.

I hate the excuses we had this team beat for 35 mins soundly and we gave it away at the end. Should have still won without Butler and Robinson we did it all game till the final 4 mins.
We also “gave it away” part of the way through the second half. We were up 6 or 7 and went on a prolonged FG draught. Texas went on a run and took the lead. We fueled it the same way we lost the game with really terrible ball handling and passing.

except for ohio state, given the injuries, it’s been understandable. tonight is an exception. texas is not near as good as what we’ll see from here. bonehead plays cost us. it was a bad loss. the sec can thank us.

I can't believe we have dudes in here trying to say Texas is good.
My God guys, open your damn eyes, that was a bad basketball team, our mistakes cost us the game.
This is Kentucky, not Vanderbilt. Gotta be kidding me.

It’s the worst loss considering the timing, the way it unfolded, i.e., pissing the game away down the stretch due to braindead play. We just cost ourselves a seed line and will be underdogs in 4 of our last 6 games regardless if Butler or Robinson play.

Brea should be the one in the gym at 10:30 at night shooting. If he just plays decent we still win. Two guys for them had 32 and 26. We just are so much worse without Butler. And with Brea a no show Robinson really needed in this one. Offensive rebounds killed us again tonight. Why can't that improve from practices? Definitely going to need to recruit defensive dogs and rebounders for next season.

They are not a bad NCAA team, just a bad SEC team. I give them credit for nutting up and doing what they needed to do at home by making sure they took advantage of us being w/o a PG, down two starters and a key rotation player.
Who is this key rotation player u refer to?
