***** Official Kentucky - Alabama Game Thread *****

Just FYI:

Perry's +/- tonight was -16

(Oweh was -23, Brea was -20, Garrison was -17)

Perry had 2 total turnovers for the game.

He was overmatched, but he's a freshman, and we didn't have any other options.

Hopefully people can sleep this one off and come back to reality before next week. Plenty left to play for.

You are making shit up. I didn't start out routing Perry, I just took exception to the hyperbolic nature of your moaning and bitching about him.
You are as dramatic as one of my teen daughters.
You seem triggered now. Yelling doesn't make you more right.

Nobody is yelling, where did you get that? THIS IS YELLING, I never did that.

But I'm making shit up?

And Ihm not 'routing" Perry, what I said is the truth. Figure it out. Pope played Perry 30 minutes. That's 20 minutes too long. Perry can't guard anybody on Alabama, but Pope kept him out there.

Your issue is, you obviously don't know the game, but you want to attack people that do know the game and are telling it like it is.

Don't try to spin it, you think Perry did great because he scored 11 pounts, that's what you said. that told me everything I needed to know. Yeah, he scored 11, but he gave up about 50. Do you understand what that means?

If the truth hurts, get off the internet, or cover your virgin eyes.

We did have another option, Chandler at least has the size and athleticism to stay in front of somebody, Perry doesn’t.

Chandler did play. 3 TOs and 3 PFs in 17+ minutes. He also got bloodied after getting hit in the face during yesterday's game.

Someone had to fill out the rest of the minutes in the back court, so Perry had to play.

I understand being frustrated by the outcome, but it's incredibly disingenuous to ignore the reality that we were without our three best guards, and Oweh had to go to the locker room early in the game after being bloodied by an elbow.

We just didn''t have a lot of options in this game. Hopefully Butler will be able to come back and give us 20+ minutes in the NCAAs. We desperately need him.

Bottom line, Perry plsyed 30 minutes, that's 20 minutes too many against this Alabama team.

By saying Chandler got hit in the face yesterday, so he was… whatever today, is a reach, he's better at all aspects of the game than Perry.

You have zero shot if your pg is Perry for 30 minutes.

We had zero shot if we played Chandler 30 and Perry 20. That's fairly obvious, so it doesn't make much sense to keep harping on it.

The reality tonight was that we didn't have other options. If you want to ignore that and complain about Chandler's playing time, feel free. It's just unconvincing and seems extremely short-sighted.

You can't see or you are simply lying to yourself. Perry's inability to guard anyone greatly negatively offset anything that he does on offense. You should see Perry for what he is instead of what you desire him to be. He was easily the worst player on the court last night and it wasn't even close. If Pope wasn't hiding him by getting the ball to Williams as soon as Perry crossed half court, he would have been completely annihilated. There is nothing about his game that looks remotely close to a capable point guard. Williams is far better with the ball than Perry.

Didn't you guarantee -25 for Perry?
I don't know the game? That really hurts.
Still undefeated aren't you?
All keyboard coaches are.
No one said great.
You don't understand the language.

I didn't start this.
I actually think he should have gone with chandler.
But if you believe in÷/- he wasn't the worst last night.

Anyone who is trying to be close to honest about any of this realizes that Pope's entire offense was built around keeping the ball out of Perry's hands as much as possible. If Bama had viewed Perry as a threat and spent any of their defensive resources on him, it would have been an even more embarrassing night for Kentucky. Your display of numbers clearly doesn't reveal who was the worst player on the court last night. When your center handles the ball more than your point guard, that says all you need to know about your point guard. HE SUCKS!!

I fully understand your point. But this is a case where numbers lie. The guys with worst numbers were trying to make something happen and Perry was simply trying to survive. Every time he was blown by on defense for a layup, it resulted in one of our guys forcing something in an attempt to offset the many layups allowed by our embarrassing guard play. Our guards weren't even capable of hitting enough 3 pointers to open up the inside to make it just a little easier for Williams and Carr to operate under the basket.
