This is nice. The last couple games we've won easily but it's been a while since a straight up nasty blow out.
Challenge: Can CUTS-NETS spin a negative on this?
Yep.This is how Cal should have utilized Skal all season long on offense
And this is why your watching while he's coaching. If he'd done this at the beginning of the year Skal would be a paper tiger. Skal is growing into this and not's because he's finally being used 'right'. Cal is a genius and he's proven it again and again and again. This is how Cal should have utilized Skal all season long on offense
Skal has always been able to shoot jumpers, but destroying his confidence by forcing him to be something he's not so early into his freshman year is not a genius move. As I'm typing this, Cal literally said the same thing during the half-time interviewAnd this is why your watching while he's coaching. But back to the game, love the progress we're seeing in this team since the Auburn game. Really fun team to watch grow together. I love this team.
Nice to get a break from a few of our whiny fans crying about refs.Friendly whistle tonight.
Murray really struggling big time on offense tonight.
I just want you to know you are not the first woman that forgot that I was standing there waiting for a answer you didn't give the score updates.Wow Cal - "I screwed this kid up"
Love that our coach takes responsibility for his mistakes
Why do you love it?In Poythress fashion. He slept on his man and gave up 2 points. Cal went straight to Lee.
Not mean spirited. Just love it.
I don't even care about Skal's shooting. I don't give a shit about that.
It's his blocking. did he get 4? Wow. DROOLLLL
I think Cal is going to want him to come back to develop that part of his game - right now play to his strengths and let him build confidence. In fairness to Cal, Skal couldn't hold onto the ball and chew gum at the same time until recently so it couldn't have been easy to know what his strengths at this level were going to be.
In the NBA he's going to need to play like a big man and that's what Cal was trying to teach him.
Cal just admitted himself, "I probably screwed this kid up". Talking directly about the change in approach and how he should have been playing him away from the basket a bit more. It's something that a ton of UK fans were calling for anyway. I'll give him credit for showing some flexibility finally. And this is why your watching while he's coaching.
