It is in no way official. No one has complained about me saying it is. I hope you aren't. If they did complain, I would end calling it that. It is just for fun. I started running games to help MTcatfan who was having trouble scoring the SUP contest on the football board. I knew I could write some code to automate it for him so it could run smoother. Eventually, he let me run it. I then thought a prediction contest would be fun and could be done for basketball also. Running the contest helped me stay active during the Tubby Smith Super Friends vs Legion Of Doom era when I would otherwise not have posted.
It is a lot of cut and paste and the scoring summary is automatically generated. I plan on running it as long as I can. We are never promised tomorrow so it could end at any point. I don't have a successor in line. No one else has shown interest. I think we are fairly unique in having the games. There aren't many other sports boards that have enough people to support games like this.
