The haters are out in force. In his first year with a less than talented team, Pope did what Cal didn't do his last 6 years at Kentucky with far more talented teams.
Sucks. It just sucks. I will miss following the team, and I will miss the interaction here with fellow fans. It was better than we could have hoped for I reckon, but I wanted more.
Pope gets a solid A for sure, just sucks that we have to lose to that damn team man
Time will tell. TN defense will do to Houstonwhat it did to us tonight. TN by 8 over Houston.
Sadly going temp is going to be 82 on Sunday. I'm not looking forward to that. House is just old. It was my parent's and sadly if it weren't for their passing, I wouldn't be able to afford a house right now. Doing all I can to keep up with repairs, but it's just.....frustrating.

I couldn't understand how we didn't shoot more 3s in the 2nd half. Pass around the perimeter, inside out passing and take the open 3. I knew with 10mins left we had taken the bait to at best exchange 2pt baskets with them. Long 2s. Just crazy.
See lots of posters starting posts or posting in threads things like “great season,” or “future is bright,” etc.
Wasn’t really a great season. It was ok. Not great. I know Pope had no players and a short runway, but I can’t call it great. Pope did well considering the circumstance.
Future is bright remains to be seen. I have concerns. But I’m hopeful.
We laid an egg tonight. Plain and simple. UT is good, they’re not great. Definitely beatable. We had no energy, and we didn’t execute any type of game plan. Effort was poor. Sucked watching it.
We need to land some athletic players. We need skill. We need talent. If Pope can’t get some of these types / we in trouble.

I agree. A lot of fun moments and sad to see it end. Still very optimistic what the future will be with Pope having more time to build a roster.
Well that is definitely the negative way to spin it ... Was hoping Pope would have them more competitive in this game, for sure. But all that other stuff has nothing to do with Pope.
I will say, to be an offensive Guru, I didn’t see much other than a high ball screen. I didn’t see us run much of anything.
We need talent but all the people dogging our players won’t help. I mean let’s use some common sense here. They fought all year, short handed and played well. Tonight sucked but we could have lost by 40, they at least kept it somewhat respectful.
This about sums it up for me. Some concerns answered, but not all of them ... yet. I really like Pope and hope he kills it here ... starting with the portal.

Yea I'm not saying they don't right now. But unless they at least make it to the final 4 all this season will be is another elite 8 exit. Won't matter who they beat in the sweet 16 and it's not like they upset us. I was just happy to get out of the first 2 rounds and win games we should win.
Everyone should be ecstatic to be where we are with the future we are gonna have. I live on the border and I personally don't give a damn what a TN fan says. Even feel a little sorry for them. We made a sweet 16 with a last minute roster that was handicapped most of the season. These teams need to get there licks in now because Kentucky is about to be a force to reckon with again.

I'm disappointed to see the season end the way it did. Can't stand losing because you lack effort, hustle, and intensity. But this season went way better than I expected. We fought injuries, got hosed with officiating in a few games, and lacked athleticism to match some of our better opponents when we needed it. Like tonight. But this was way better than what we witnessed the last 5 years under CCC. Pope did an amazing job considering. Hopefully he puts an emphasis on rebounding and defense in the future. But I think he's gonna do some great things at UK. Now on to Fishing!! It's tournament season!! #BASSFISHING #CATTTRAIL
Defense got Brea. TN took Brea out of the game. Five points and was 1 for 4 from three. One for seven that was a 3 point and 2 free throws. Machack shut him down. We had 11 turnovers, TN had 8. TN had 11 Offensive rebounds, we had 4. TN had 18 defensive rebounds we had 15. We we horrible on the boards tonight. We need portal help big time.
I get it. I'm not gonna lie and say I'm sunshine and rainbows right now. Definitely wanted the win over the gross orange.
But I'm just trying to look at the whole season. I think with everything that happened I'm happy with the season. It felt like a return to UK basketball and an exit from the crap we had been putting up with under Cal.
Pope did a damn good job, I’m happy with the direction of the program.
This team has ran hot and cold all season. They made the sweet sixteen and that was a good achievement for them. Pope comes in--has no team--puts one together on short notice out of the portal and takes it to the sweet sixteen. I'm not ready to throw up my hands. All things considered this year could have been a major disaster. It wasn't.
It just sucks that Williams and Carr didn't treat this game like it was important enough for them to give it their all. Those two players didn't play like this might be their last game. They certainly can't say they left it all on the court.
