Butler is a shock.
Carr is a selfless workhorse that probably should shoot more.
Oweh is an amazing physical player.
Robinson hasn't yet hit a consistent stride but is willing to do whatever.
Williams has short stretches where he is excellent, then fades.
Garrison is improving swiftly.
Almonor is worth it for his attitude of thankfulness if nothing else.
Krissa is that looney tune energy monster that can change a game good or bad.
Our three first year guys are improving slowly....they are a throwback to the old coaching philosophy that the best thin about freshmen is they'll be sophomores soon enough.

Nice breakdown Bill. I really enjoy watching this team. Couple of things I think that could take this offense to an even higher level. 1. Our 5s need to figure out what they want to do quicker. Ball stops too often when it goes to them. 2. Need to get Brea and Robinson better looks more often.

And hit free throws at a better clip.

All that being said, I love this team.

The whole team seems to turn their intensity on defense off and on. There needs to be more desire for loose balls and rebounds instead of standing around acting like it’s someone else’s job.
That’s what I’d be looking at as a coach to preach to my team and work on in practice to improve upon. I love this team and am so glad that guy who was just drawing a check for recruiting and prepping guys for the draft is gone. It’s been fun and refreshing.

I know it's hard to nitpick on Brea just given his shooting but I'd like to see him stop shooting those threes from the corner where he is moving into his position laterally and shoots. I feel like most of his misses are those types of shots. When he is in position out close to the top of the key and not really moving laterally, he almost always makes those.

And maybe we start to hide some of his defensive issues by playing more zone when he is in?

Noah keeps improving his lateral movement/quickness and we could see him later in the year. Probably be more next year than this but still, like his drive and he will be a Pelphery type of player.

Will be interesting to see what the Coaches work on this week with the team. I heard Larry Vaught say on the radio today that Pope is prescribing some rest this week. Rest for those that need it and get them playing harder on the defensive side of the ball. Get the passing game in full swing again. Get the guys to NYC a day early and let them enjoy NYC at Christmas. Pretty magical this time of year.

We should handle OSU easily, I think.
