Nice to have a good team.. probably a 10 to 15 team. But not a top 5 or national contender. They need help shooting and at guard. (Injuries were killers).We have an all American but it is not Amoore. It is Clara Strack. She has an all around game. Key has been a pleasant surprise . Descent shooter, rebounder and runs the floor well. Hassett may be the key. uk has not shot well. Hassett has the potential but has not shot well to start. Lawrence (besides Strack) has been UK’s only good shooter particularly from 3 pt. land. Rowe is a good little player but she has to start shootings better. Amoore is hard to evaluate. She’s a good leader -very posed and I’m glad we have her. She playing way too many minutes. The way we are wearing her down she’ll only be 5’2 by March. She a little ball heavy but most of that is because she doesn’t have much help at guard. Hope to see more of Silva . Transition to American ball has been hard but she clearly has the potential. Strack and Silva could develop into the most dominating inside presence in college ball.
The offense is way too much dribble,dribble,dribble. But lack of guard play and shooting is probably the cause. Amoore shooting and turnovers have been disappointing. Hope is for Obi to return but that is probably wishful thanking. For now give the ball to Strack and let her operate. Inside outside wherever. She is just sooooo good. Lack of depth is hurting. Lots of girls are playing too many minutes. If Amoore can get back on tract we can be really good. Maybe even a top 10 team.
