Not sure if he has to sit out a year. He would give us another big body and shot blocker.

I would assume he is eligible immediately. He was a senior last year, so he has already used 4 years on his eligibility clock. If he had to sit out a year, then his 5 years to play 4 would expire.

He's Nerlens Noel, about 20% worse, has eligibility and attitude problems. No thanks. Not sure why he doesn't just go pro. He's considered it the last 2 years. Probably because he's very overrated.

well he wouldn't start, so I don't think we'd be an option

Hopefully we can add Wynyard second semester to round things out

I thought we wanted to get away from platoons. How many more do we need? Looks like right now we have a pretty deadly and fast team.

UK is now loaded with guards but it could use another player or two inside. I doubt that he would come to UK however unless he just wants a shot at a championship ring. He would likely get better playing time somewhere else. Than again the exposure might give him a better chance to make the NBA. UK has put a lot of non starters in the NBA.

Thanks for the clarification. What I read said he was a senior and I didn't check to see if it meant he had finished his senior season or was an incoming senior.

I don't know why we need him. You are near platoon status adding another guy who expects to get some serious run minutes' wise (at least he would expect that). Wynyard coming in in December would be a much better fit for what UK needs, just a guy that can come in for a few mins and do ok, and be ready to play more on the nites UK needs him due to foul trouble.

Just a friendly reminder to my big blue brethren that 2 platoons worth of top players is not considered the standard for a good or even great teams. In fact, many great teams have been built with just 6 or 7 top players, and we have more talent on this roster than the vast majority of teams in Kentucky history right now.

You are talking to a poster who said "There are numerous coaches that could do just as well or better than Cal" as far as what Cal has done here in 6 seasons. He never names these imaginary coaches mind you, but he has said it several times.

Hah. He could start by performing a simple exercise that I like to offer to the sourpusses on here when they start underappreciating what Cal's done.

Start building a list of coaches who have had a more successful first 6 years at any school. Ever. In the history of college basketball.

They're welcome to take as much time to come through history as they like. The only one that even has an argument is Roy at UNC - and now we know that half his players in that span were eligible only due to the biggest scandal in the history of CBB.

He won't be able to come up with a single answer besides cheater Roy.

With a completely healthy Alex I don't worry about our front court but if he's not 100% we will be pretty thin up front and without much physical presence at all.

I think with a three guard lineup we are fine with the three front court players we have. Poythress should be close if not right at 100 percent in November and in December I expect him to be 100 percent since ACL injuries take around a year to fully recover.

Obepka won't be coming here, but I do think this team could use a big, bruising "enforcer" type of the inside.

Poy can give us some of that, but I wouldn't mind having a tough, physical PF on the roster to help him out.

There are worse ideas, like taking one of those Florida guys Billy left behind.

I'm glad we didn't end up with the Charlotte kid either; never heard of him before he left Charlotte.

Need depth? How about three 5-stars and a 4-star (Wynyard- second semester). That deep enough?

Need a bruiser? Wynyard is 6'10, 250. That big enough?

I think we will be fine.

yep one more forward. a space eater like that kid is perfect. we don't need two more players. matthews and mulder are both off the bench now. our perimeter is loaded.
