Hard to know without knowing what actually happened to him. Best of luck in his recovery though! He’s a trooper for sure.

Just a guess but prob a stroke. He seems to have one side of his body affected more than the other.

- A few weeks into being a UK student, a good friend's roommate suffered one in their dorm room. Age 18. Quickly got him to UK Med Center across the street for treatment & he didn't have lasting effects that I know of. But did leave school.
- In grad school, a fellow Engr. student suffered one. Age ~25. Had a mild limp that was improving when I left the school.

He didn't just have a stroke, otherwise it would have been announced. Nothing secretive about having a stroke. I'm not going any further out of respect for what the family has asked. Just know it's a sad situation, pray for him and his family.
