Oats points to UK’s nuclear five.

It’s makes me want to puke that Cal hasn’t played Z more, yea he has his warts but anyone can see he is out best option at the 5
He's put Z out there in several games and he was a liability. He's obviously been working to get him assimilated to the toughness of the college game and last night he broke through.

The imurgance of Z and Edwards make us a different team and right at the perfect time.

I think Ky will be a 3 seed maybe a 4 and we're making a deep run.

We won every game in 2015, and then lost when it really counted.

I kinda like the way this season has played out. Time to shock college basketball.

To score 28 points in a 6 minute Span can only be classified as the nuclear 5. Like Oats said it doesn’t matter if they are poor on defense

Big Z needs playing time to catch up. Yes at times he is slow but other times he is not.

And somebody tell him he can't hang on the rim for crying out loud.
You can hang on the rim if it's to keep you from falling awkwardly or onto another player. Pretty much have to do a chinup to get it called now.

Im just saying, there was one play where it looked like he was doing a chin-up after dunking. I dont think there was much in the way and we know he's done this before.

But you are right, he's got to have a good landing to not get hurt.

I don’t think you can sub Thiero for Rob/Reed without sacrificing a tremendous amount of shooting and spacing. Not exactly a nuclear lineup at that point.
It certainly comes down to match ups, but if Thiero can continue to shoot like he did yesterday, then his ability to be more physical in the paint is a plus.

I think Cal will continue to start AT, unless Mitchell comes back healthy, simply because Cal know's he has 5" on Shep and Dilly.

It’s really quite simple using that nuclear symbol graphic.

The 3 guards on the bottom are the core group and should play together as much as possible. Wagner offers backup/breather minutes.

The upper left Forward needs to be a rotation of Thiero, Mitchell, and Edwards (especially if he plays anything like he did today). Basically go with whoever is playing the best since these 3 seem to wax and wane.

The upper right Center position needs to be majority Ugo/Z with Bradshaw giving backup minutes for foul trouble.

That’s basically a core group of 8 with 2 others filling in off the bench.
Spot on post and couldn’t have said it better. No matter what two of Shep/Dilly/reeves have to be playing at all times., imo.

I’m not saying Thiero shouldn’t play. Just that subbing Thiero for either Reed/Rob is an entirely different type of team.

And frankly, I wouldn’t have Reed/Rob on the bench much at all. They have been two of our three best players all year.

Others have roles to play, and I certainly welcome and applaud contribution from guys like Edwards/Thiero/Z. But my guess is that any deep run is going to be contingent on Rob/Reed/Reeves sustaining a high level of play.

I agree with most of what you said except for putting Z out there and he proved to be a liability. It’s hard to evaluate how a player is gonna do in one trip down the floor. Z hasn’t been given the same time on the floor to learn and make mistakes as the others.

I think it was a difficult decision on the part of the coaching staff because we were struggling at the defensive end.

I think Cal needed to shorten his rotation and Ugonna is a better defender and shot blocker.

If it was earlier in the season when Cal was overtinkering imo he probably would've gotten a longer leash.

One things for sure when Z is out there on the offensive end it opens up a lot of possibilities and we get better looks from outside and in the paint.

It'll be interesting to see what the rotation looks like Tues.

Gee ya think ? We have only been saying forever to play Reed, Dilly and Reeves together all year and this stupid coach of ours refuses
You should seriously consider throwing Z in there as well. He is our best big man and it isn't even close.

Mitchell would be fine too if he's healthy.
Mitchell wasn't playing good ball at all before he got injured. He represents another portal player CCC picked up that plays below the rim. He needs to come off the bench.

Slow????? He moves better than either Ugo or Bradshaw. He brings a lot more to the game and his growth potential greatly exceeds Ugo and Bradshaw.

BALONEY. He broke through against Georgia. Cal wouldn't play him significant minutes most games and when he did, Z delivered. Cal has obviously been getting pushback from his assistant coaches (Bruiser Flint) who don't really like Z, and let's face it, Z is CONSTANTLY playing out of position. He's really a 4 but he NEVER gets to play the 4.

And I think the word you're looking for is "emergence."

I'm sure one coach is always pleased by another coach's public efforts to handle his personnel for him.

"Don't listen to them. On you that beige hides your sallow skin."

He played great against Georgia. He was made eligible just hours before tip-off and wasn't on thier scouting report.

The next few times Cal played him he was exposed as a defensive liability. And you have absolutely no idea what goes on in practice or how Flint feels about Z.

Z looked like a different player last night, thats why he got some Pt.

If Z continues to play on Both ends of the court he'll play, it's that simple.

FALSE. He wasn't "exposed" any more than Edwards has been all season.

Cal STATED that he got "Pt" because Cal woke up and knew in his gut he needed to play.

And Flint STATED that he didn't believe Z was ready and he DOWNPLAYED his Georgia success, STATING that Z wasn't in the right place and that his usage on the team was "down the road."

Try and keep up with the better informed and you might become a real fan one day.

Been out of town a bit.

Before I left, Cal was an idiot for playing Edwards too much.

Now, he's an idiot for not playing Edwards enough.

Do I have that right? I'm trying to get caught up ASAP, so thanks in advance!
No, you don't have that right. Who said Cal was an idiot for not playing Edwards enough? You're mixing him up with Big Z.

That's funny because you run your mouth before every game and you're always wrong.

Cal, sticking with Edwards may get us to a final 4. Cal going with Ugonna over Z when he did was the right call. (10 Blocks in a game followed by 11 rebounds in the next one) It was also you who said Z wouldn't play the rest of the season because Bruiser made the "Down the Road" statement which is probably false. Source?

If you think the Ky coaching staff isn't doing everything they can to get Z in the rotation your being foolish.
Big Z is brilliant offensively.

Mitchell played hurt for several games before he officially was "injured"

Bruiser said it in a pregame video. Don't watch them? Basic fan. Nice try. Look it up on youtube.

Cal HIMSELF said he got pushback when he decided to put Z in. Who do you think gave him that on GAMEDAY? God? LOL You are so simple.

As fans, we are as inconsistent as this team. LOL!

The only consistent thing around here is that “Cal is an idiot.” LOL!

So if you watch so many pregame videos and are such an amazing fan why are you always wrong? You can run your little 12 yr old mouth all you want we all read your posts. 90% of everything you say is nonsense.

We just need our main starter back. Trey Mitchell still leads the team in average played minutes.

In other words, you're wrong and you want to deflect from that. Bye, waste.
