I heard something the other day that said they had actually finished higher than their preseason ranking most times in the last decade. This year definitely seems to be an overrated year. Just not very good.

They are currently ranked 8th. After this loss I suspect they will fall to number 19 or 20. 0-2 and still top 25. That makes perfect sense. Almost as much sense as Florida going from unranked to 12th.

That’s because they schedule about 2 loseable games each year surrounded by a bunch of mostly cupcakes . Put them in an actual conference and see what happens.

There have always been 3 or 4 teams you really don't want to play, Marshall, App State, and Georgia State and you can add a MAC team or two to that list among a few others. Everywhere you go now teams have good players, this weekend was evident of that.

.....and Louisville better watch out for James Madison (JMU) who is starting off like a house of fire this year in the Sun Belt as a new entrant to FBS. The former FCS (CAA Conference powerhouse) Dukes of JMU defeated C-USA's Middle Tennessee State (MTSU) 44-7 and FCS Norfolk State 63-7 in their first two games.

We'll get a better feel about how competitive the JMU newbies are when they visit App State on the 24th after a bye week.

JMU visits the U-of-L pizza pit on 5 November, and I'll be cheering on the Harrisonburg Duke-Dogs through the TV.
