I think a lot of people are forgetting that the NCAA does not have subpoena power like a court of law. Also the whole sports scene is becoming a huge mess of cheating,. too much for the NCAA to handle. For it to be handled correctly you would need an NCAA representative at every school for it to be effective.
I like many others think it takes too long to finalize these violations, but maybe its better to be slow and get it right than otherwise.
Sooner or later changes are going to have to be made in the system or it will completely get out of hand. The AD's and Coaches are making multi-millions and have to keep up with the competition or lose their jobs, thus the incentive is slanted toward cheating. If they are caught, they just go to another job, for example Bruce Pearl, Kevin Sampson, Eddie Sutton. Jim Harrick etc.
Its sad to see all this happening in the name of Education. The only reason that most kids are even in school is thats its free and they are not eligible for the NBA tll they reach a certain age. It is a tailored made situation for the players and the coaches are saying the players should be paid on top of all this.
Some people want to blame the NCAA, but they are very wrong about this in my opinion. They do not have enough man power to to do the job, which I alluded to earlier. They have to contend with players, coaches that have violated the rules and lied about it. Its a tough job for the NCAA. jmho
