This is true. With everything we did wrong and everything the refs handed Bama we would have won that game had we just not played Perry. And I say that loving Perry. It wasn’t the context for him.
This^ as much as some here seem to discount his abilities he is very much missed. He plays fast and is cocky as hell and I think it rubs off on everyone else. He can shoot it too.
All I’m hoping for is a winning record in conference play and to win 1-2 games in the tournament. This isn’t a super talented team. We shouldn’t have super lofty expectations. This conference is brutal. We happen to have a great coach with a decently talented team. A team that without this coach is middle of the pack at best
Bama wasn’t allowing anyone to get open looks. Especially Brea and Robinson. I’ll give Bama credit.
I didn’t get to watch but looking at the stats we outplayed them everywhere but the charity stripe. Again I didn’t watch and I don’t blame refs. Have to adjust to the whistle and learn not to foul.
Kind of figured it would be a loss. But was also hoping we might finally win the officiating battle at home against a team that shoots a lot of 3s. So annoyed that the win was there for the taking.

It's just statistically impossible. Cal went to 4 in 5 seasons and that will never happen again probably as long as we all live.
I dont expect a final four every season because we have had a lot of mediocre teams n my lifetime. Last 3 years, 2016, 2013, 2008, 2009, 2007, 2006, 2002, 2001, 2000 to name a few this century.
Getting players to buy into defense is a much different animal than offense. You need guys to stick around for at least 2-3 years to run it effectively

That makes sense then. Here’s a little secret: UK fans have a reputation for being a little crazy and expecting to be in the mix for a title every single season.
Then why are you acting like I was wrong with what I said. Should we expect a final four nearly every year? Probably not. Do we? Yes.
Lol I never said you were wrong,, I said you do you.. This isn't an argument,, just saying I'm fine with making the tournament and winning a game.. If you want sweet 16 as what will make you happy,, that's fine also.. To me this is a throwaway season so I don't have many expectations,, anything beyond that for me is just gravy.. Next year its final 4 or bust season..
bamer is good and was just better than uk today. With that said I'd 100x rather have pope and these guys representing the state moreso than oats and his crew
Depends on what our goal is. If it is to be 10-8 in the league and finish in the middle and get a NCAA 6 seed you are right no panic needed.
But if you wanted to finish 12-6 and in the top 4 in the SEC and be a top 3 NCAA seed well it is a little different we needed this game badly if those were our goals. They were mine.

I’m always disappointed when we lose, we should have won that game but big difference in recruits as many have said. Carr really killed us today & Al just isn’t athletic enough to guard their bigs. JR went back in to sulking mode and bad body language in the 2nd half but we have got to be able to play some defense though.
Each loss makes it harder to achieve post season success because it hurts our seeding. This loss in isolation isn’t that big of a deal. Losing to a top 5/10 team in Bama is not the end of the world. It’s the fact that we have to pile it on top of some other losses that we shouldn’t have (especially that stinker at MSG). And it’s the fact that it was a home game. We can’t afford to give these home games away when our road games are going to be so tough.
We are 3-2 right now and we have six home games left. If we sweep the home slate against non-ranked opponents, that gives us four more wins. That’s 7-2.
We have road games at Alabama, Ole Miss, and UT, which I think you have to tally as losses. That’s 7-5. The rest of games are as follows:

“Perry” didn’t hurt us at all and is a good kid. But having him on the floor this game given the way Alabama was systematically abusing him hurt our chances significantly and may well have been the single biggest contributor to our loss. He had the third highest negative +/- of anyone on the team despite playing less than half as many minutes as anybody else. Whatever good play or series you’re focusing on doesn’t change that. He’s a good kid with a bright future but he wasn’t the choice for today.
The product that UK is displaying this year is 10x better than anything since 2015. The coaching is 50x better. Bama is a top team.
Have to agree. He played hard and gave effort, but he was totally out classed today. Abused bad on defense and missed 2 wide open shots. Hitting those would have off set the points he gave up
I don’t agree with this. Alabama is one of the best teams in college basketball. Today’s game was hotly contested and could have gone our way with just a couple of different bounces.
Kentucky has beaten several of the best teams in the country. We are a top 10 team and getting better.
I haven’t enjoyed UK basketball this much in years. Panic? Not at all. It’s pure bliss and passion. I felt little to nothing when Cal’s teams lost the last 5 years.
SEC is too good this year. Have to win at home. Bama is for real. How in the world did Ole Miss beat them at home.
Sure hoping Carr gets healthy. Surely need Kerr back. UK does miss having a create your own player on the wing and backcourt. Bama caught UK a little wounded.
I’m not panicking yet but you have to win at home because getting a road win in the SEC is tough.
Six quad 1 wins. 2nd most in nation. And plenty more opportunities. 2 or 3 seed is likely even if 11-7 in conference.
It is okay for people to accept that this is not a top 10 team. It is still better than we have seen the last few years. Really, this home loss translates to what probably would be a 10 to 15 point loss on a neutral court to Bama. They are a legit top 5 team.
