No more Krissa please.

He leads the team in assists and is one of the "toughest" players out there. Plays with a lot of emotion and that is a big help. Yes, he's not a starter for good reasons but when Butler is in foul trouble Kerr can steady things while Butler is on the bench. What is the alternative?

Did you watch the first half.

And who’s going to be the backup PG?
Butler is going to need to eventually be able to rest not talking about fault troubles or ankle injury..

Again, overreaction. Kriisa most obviously has a big role on this team. Yes, we need him to play better, but the same can be said for a number of guys if you just base it on one game. Damn, some of you expect everyone to play perfectly every play of every game. That doesn't happen. I wish some of you would stop running these guys down the road at the first opportunity.

With endless TV timeouts and official reviews and other timeouts there is zero reason a well conditioned player cant go 35-36 min ... and Butler is that guy.. He's a 1st team AA in my book , we just need to accept he's that crucial to our success and have to limit KK's minutes in games he's ineffective .

Oweh, Robinson, Brea can play together and get the ball down the court. Numbers do not lie and Kriisa had no excuse playing the most minutes off the bench. -21 in a 4 point game? This isn’t rocket science.

I don't mean to run him down but my observation is that he is a pretty below average defender. He isn't athletic, has poor timing and instincts which is a bad combination.

No, he could have played decent to average and we still could have won. He didn’t have to play perfect. But he was awful and a liability on both ends of the court.

He kept flopping around and trying to draw fouls or calls in the first half then couldn’t guard a statue, just play and quit with the antics. Reminded me so much of a duke player in the first half but may need to try oweh at point if butler is out or foul trouble. I know it’s just one game but he must be better if he’s the backup.

To be honest, with all we are losing after this season, it may be beneficial to try and implement some Perry into more minutes. Need some experience from the Kentucky boy or boys for the future. Is Krissa really that much better?

Butler picked up his 2nd (phantom) foul only 5 minutes into the game. For most coaches that will get you a spot on the bench for the rest of the half but Pope saw the way it was going late in the half and put Lamont back in for a few minutes to stop the momentum. Then he tweaked his ankle which may or may not have hampered him some the 2nd half. According to Pope's post game comments it did. I believe Pope would have played Lamont more if he could have but the circumstances didn't dictate that he could.

I agree and I said in another post I get Butler, but find it a hard situation where Kriisa gets more run than Brea. But I trust Pope and he’s smarter than me, so I trust he’s going to learn from this like all the players.

I’d play Perry over him right now - Krissa shooting 25% from both 2& 3 Guarantee you Perry can do better with the minutes Krissa gets
As far as defense neither would be great
As far as bringing ball up against pressure
We got a 7’ named Magic Williams that does that
Give me Perry much better scorer

Exactly, he had a bad day.
We all do.
Relax with the knee jerk opinions guys.

Perry is obviously lost on D or he would’nt be riding the pine.

But he has a real talent for being irritating !! LOL

Man I watched Perry live against Libscomb from 4 rows back .. he's FAR from ready to contribute . He looked like a boy against men .. even against Libscomb .. I think he's a contributor down the road , I really do , but physically he just isnt there yet . And hes never going to have much quickness , that isnt his gift .

It’s more than just a random bad game from a usually strong performer at this point. He just hasn’t been any good so far this year. After last night, he’s down to 25% shooting from the field while being a liability on defense. The no look assists against Bucknell were kind of fun, but he has 0 assists between the Duke and Clemson games, so it’s not even like he’s been a hot distributor against actual competition. He’s definitely a liability right now, but we may have no choice but to hope he somewhat gets it together because we don’t have many options for backup minutes at the point.

Kerr style of playing is great the other players are rebounding so we can have a fast break or cutting with purpose on a half court offense so they get open. Defensively Kerr is not at the same level with Butler.

Playing Kerr should in theory bring a change in speed and style of playing…. Yesterday the whole team took a step back not just Kerr.

I posted about Kerr before the season started. I knew he was a terrible defender. Streaky shooter. But Butler can't play 40 minutes and the Freshmen aren't ready.
Kerr will win a game or two. When he is on with his shot he can hit 4 or 5 threes in a row.
He is fine playing 8-10 minutes a game. Butler is the most valuable player on the team. Not saying he is the best but he is the most valuable . Got to keep him healthy and out of foul trouble.

Krissa makes the opposing team commit at least 3 frustration fouls during a game.

He is struggling right now, not sure why and I wish he had a better game. But I want him in the games.
