NO for ME!

Screw that idea. I'd rather see common sense come into play about expenditures rather than tossing tradition and existing conferences away.

Not going to happen..there are too many long-running traditions & rivalries in the SEC involving so many teams to have the conference jigsawed up like that..this guy is a Texas writer..of course he wants realignment..his conference is a couple teams away from being completely irrelevant, and he wants to leech onto some of the SEC powers and have them on his schedule and in his conference/division

Now I do think we'll see more and more of these other conferences bringing in more and more football schools (like we saw in the last alignment) and forming a conference more and more similar looking to the SEC, but the SEC is going to stay as it is..I could see maybe the Big Ten and ACC or the Big 12 and ACC combining to form a football conference somewhat similar to ours, but I still don't think they'd be on the level of the SEC, as crazy as that is to think about

Football is the driving force behind all of these conference realignments because of how popular it's become in American culture and how much money it makes for guys like Eli Capiluto & Mitch Barnhart...in the next 20-30 years we're going to be seeing some mega football conferences

Come on man! We got far, far, far, far, better examples of unwarranted expenditures and/or salaries right here in this state than those two gentlemen.

Don't kid yourself, college athletics and their governing bodies is all about how to make a profit. SEC ended rivalaries that had played every year for 70+ years so they could get a championship game. If like he said that would turn the biggest net, then expect something alone those lines to begin in about 10 years. I don't know how the divisions will be broken down, but I have heard of plan of 4 conference with 16 teams each for quite some time. That would include all but one of the P5 teams and ND, if ND wants to stay independent, let them, see how they like have a season of playing directional U's.

Don't know if I would like it, I would assume the conferences would be in the same region somewhat, but an awful of P5 teams in the deep South, some of the teams on the edges could get bumped to other conferences

I certainly like the idea of playing Pitt and Indiana and Notre Dame every year instead of Florida, Georgia, and LSU. We could become a southern power in a northern league.

If we could keep SEC level talent, we could compete very, very favorably with those schools. In fact, we'd be a power. However, few SEC level kids would be interested in spending their time in places like bloomington, pittsburgh, parkersburg, wva.
