Not going to happen..there are too many long-running traditions & rivalries in the SEC involving so many teams to have the conference jigsawed up like that..this guy is a Texas writer..of course he wants realignment..his conference is a couple teams away from being completely irrelevant, and he wants to leech onto some of the SEC powers and have them on his schedule and in his conference/division
Now I do think we'll see more and more of these other conferences bringing in more and more football schools (like we saw in the last alignment) and forming a conference more and more similar looking to the SEC, but the SEC is going to stay as it is..I could see maybe the Big Ten and ACC or the Big 12 and ACC combining to form a football conference somewhat similar to ours, but I still don't think they'd be on the level of the SEC, as crazy as that is to think about
Football is the driving force behind all of these conference realignments because of how popular it's become in American culture and how much money it makes for guys like Eli Capiluto & Mitch Barnhart...in the next 20-30 years we're going to be seeing some mega football conferences
