Truthfully Kansas is probably lucky Duke got brought into this. The whole f’n thing will get wiped from history now that Duke’s name was invoked. Best possible scenario for Kansas.
That's just someone from Duke saying that. Doesn't mean anything.
Yes, in fact many people do. Perhaps state they are looking into it and at least make it seem like they're doing their own due diligence on the reports (even if they aren't). Then come out with this little statement.Did anyone expect them to say anything else?
Actually, the best scenario was when LSU was brought in. KU and Duke will both walk clean and LSU will take the brunt of the "findings" that come from the trial. Notice that the only article on ESPN on the new evidence leaking from the trial this week was headlined with Wade and LSU. Then buried deep in that article was a paragraph or so about Zion and Duke, and KU and Townsend. The purpose is to not have clicks in there from people curious about Duke/KU, as they see it as just being about lowly ole LSU and some new coach.Truthfully Kansas is probably lucky Duke got brought into this. LSU and UL are this year's goats. They'll be the ones that take it all for the other schools, while Puke and KU slips into the future with nothing at all happening to them.Actually they work in the reverse. This scandal is so widespread the NCAA must act in some way. Usually that would be Cleveland State, but in this situation Kansas is the perfect option, unless they think Louisville will suffice.
Remember, the NCAA loves Self, and he will be their next K in terms of favoritism. But they dont care about Kansas as a program. It's not like UNC where they protect both.

Deny, deny, deny. That's the MO for today's world, for everyone. And it's been oddly successful, even for those caught red-handed.
They are untouchable. By the NCAA and the media. We joke around about Duke being untouchable, but it really isn’t a joke. Doesn’t matter. Duke’s name comes up and the swiftness of sweeping it under the rug is staggering.
I'm thinking they use the "we are a private institution, so we are not held to the same policies/guidelines/rules as public institutions". Somehow they are using this "loophole" to get away with anything they want.Starting to think their recruiting pitch is "we can get you whatever you and your family need, and the NCAA is scared of us so don't worry about there ever being any issues."
So they get an unfair advantage over public schools!? Why have an ncaa?? GO CATS!!I'm thinking they use the "we are a private institution, so we are not held to the same policies/guidelines/rules as public institutions". Somehow they are using this "loophole" to get away with anything they want.

Exactly. That's two of three main programs to compete and keep Cal and UK from rattling off national titles. Their only hope really.LSU and UL are this year's goats. They'll be the ones that take it all for the other schools, while Puke and KU slips into the future with nothing at all happening to them.
The Carolina and Duke Way.Starting to think their recruiting pitch is "we can get you whatever you and your family need, and the NCAA is scared of us so don't worry about there ever being any issues."
Do the names Maggette,Thomas and Sulaimon ring any bells?Who would know better that their program is untouchable.
The average Duke fan doesn't know anything about the rules on the books because they know their historical position within the law. Which is, it doesn't apply. They've been caught breaking rules but to them they are more like bendable guidelines depending on differing factors. It's never applied to them in black and white.
For example, at Duke, who knew what, when, and where matters. At other programs not named UNC it doesn't. That's a fact, not an opinion.
So they would know better than anyone the rules dont apply, in a subconscious way.
Well the NCAA still has the rubber stamp so they might as well keep using it.After the NCAA cleared Bagley in record time, was there ever any doubt how Zion's situation would be handled? Hell, at this rate, if I were Duke, I'd bring back Okafor, Winslow, and Tyus Jones. The NCAA would see to it that they're eligible.
Did anyone expect them to say anything else?
