No Butler, No Robinson = No win.

Agreed. Losing Carr there on fouls, too. it is on the road. Tough loss all the way around. Just too much to overcome in the end.
Carr did nothing but collecting fouls and turnovers. At least he has a good excuse. I never understand why Pope didn’t play Almanor more minutes.

Yeah. The normal Cal-boys who show up after every loss are out in full strength rn acting like you’re supposed to be the same team without your 2 best players and 3 PGs.

But this one sucks a little more bc we had the game won and failed to execute down the stretch. Pope is doing everything he can to squeeze every bit out of this broke roster but I do think he also played some guys who were clearly killing us a little too long today instead of riding w primarily a 6.5 man rotation. I get balancing wanting to not run any other key players into the ground but Garrison is unplayable. And Brea was a complete no show and it was obvious midway through the 2nd

You can't lose to every shit team you play, and keep acting like it's okay. This is why you don't lose at home to Arkansas.

Missed Butler is last 2 mins.. The moment got to big for them.. Perry did well... Just was not read for the moment.... Most freshman a are not... And we still only lost by 4... Rest of the team stepped up... Did players get tired... Proud of them.... And if we can get butler and Robinson back before the tourney... We might be a better team having Perry and Noah getting extra time.. Game seems to be slowing down for him.. We still have alot of potential... Being down 2 of our better players hurt, and Carr has not been the same since his back messed up.

Pope deserves to answer tough questions in the presser and in the radio show Monday. Being down a couple players shouldn’t give him a reason to think this is acceptable. Texas was down a good player too. Who cares

This was not about the PG. Texas didn5 put any pressure on the ball .. we went away from Kentucky basketball. No movement on offense, no boxing out , lazy passes, missing bunnies, not cutting hard to get open, making dumb mental mistakes and playing hero ball…

A well deserved loss. If we play like this we will not win any games anymore .

Were fine right now.. but we might want to think about alternating Jrob and Butler.. we really need one of them back.. and the first one that's back, let him rest the next game if he needs it.

Just need a few more wins in the SEC to seal a 5 or 6 seed.. which is more than do-able.. but.. we need one of those guys back.

I would not be all that surprised if THIS UK team we have now were to only win 1 or 2 more games.

Yes, it would also help if Brea makes shots.
Koby’s splits road and home are insanely different. He shoots over 20% better from 3 at home than on the road.

This hasn’t gotten attention but it’s monstrous. He provides next to nothing away from Rupp and is a monster asset at Rupp.

I watched a professional motocross racer race a complete 20 minute race plus heat race with a broken fibula last week. How bout they just toughen up and play

Going to be a long frustrating two weeks, can’t say that I’m feeling confident about Vandy. Teams are just going to turn the heat up and give our guys no space to dribble. We have absolutely no one who can handle the ball in pressure situations

I mean… it’s a pretty simple trend. We’ve won 95% of the games that we have a full roster or only missing 1 (not counting Kerr).

We’ve lost the games we are missing 2 or more pieces of our top 6.

That’s why we’ve beat some good teams even with an injury here or there but have dropped some lesser teams when we are down multiple guys….now whether that is bad timing or hoping we can rest guys we know are beat up and steal one and it keeps failing is another convo all together.

Yes…this one sucks more bc we had it won and fell apart to give it away under 3 min. And there were some questionable lineups as well which is fair. I know Pope is trying tk squeeze as much as possible from a short handed lineup but it was pretty obvious that Garrison was hurting us. When Amari needs a break we are better off playing Carr as a small ball 5 and AA/Brea at the 4

op, i think we all kind of knew this. still, this one was very, very winnable. knew that going in as well. we should have won. then find a way against vandy. we needed those two. there’s maybe one other win out there without our guards. luckily we should get them back in time to get 20 wins. it won’t be easy as we know, but i think we will get that.

That would still hurt like hell. Every tiny bump you'd feel it. You know your one of my favorite posters, I've told you this, but I'm telling you that would still be horrifically painful.

Im sure it is. But it is still utterly absurd to try and compare ****ing motocross to basketball. Ill entertain when people try and compare this to football (which i still don't really agree with).. but motocross? Laughable.

Most of the games we have lost have been against desperate teams needing a signature win to keep their hopes alive. We struggle to match intensity in those situations, especially without Butler.
This has been a sneaky and easily forgotten thing in our losses.

Doesn’t excuse the loss but there’s been a different desperation with some of our opponents situations

Oh I wasn't trying to compare it to basketball. Was just saying that would be painful.

It's not just those 2. We've been without Kriisa since Gonzaga game, and Carr is hardly in good health. He's playing with a nagging back issue. Not playing even half the game and not getting into double digits. We are effectively playing without 4 of our main players that we started with. But some people would rather complain and bash the players and coach than accept reality. You can't have consistency, with our injuries this season. We had Perry and Noah as our 2 guards down the stretch. What do you expect out of that?

I’m fine sitting butler and Jax if it means a 4/5/6 seed IF they are healthy come tourney time. Those two are the key to getting out of the first weekend. The team we had tonight almost won. No moral victories but shows me we can play. We just need that leadership to finish off teams. Texas was desperate and showed intensity of a desperate team that we didn’t match during the final stretch.
I still feel good about our team. Proven we can beat anyone when healthy.
I like my cats. Bit rough but gotta remember not full strength. Full strength and we run them out of their own gym.
Perry gives effort and will be fine. Valuable minutes. He is a freshmen and not a senior. Give him some time. These games will pay dividends in the future.
Go CATS!!!
