NIL and the portal have clearly turned college sports upside down. It's a new day, a new era, with new results. Sustained post-season success isn't really a thing anymore. A double-digit seed from today would beat the pants off a double-digit seed from 20 years ago. In a tournament situation, all it takes is one bad game and that's it. When the field has gotten better and better, the chances of that bad game get a lot more likely. Just ask Virginia or Purdue. This is where we are at. It's reality. How do we, the fanbase with the highest of the highest of expectations, adapt to this?
