Anybody watching O vs VT?

Look at their uniforms. The word Ohio nor Virginia is anywhere to be seen. Nor Buckeye or Hokie.

It's sad how hard Nike is trying to genericize college football. Every Jersey is the same. A little flair on the shoulders. School initials on the helmet. Maybe. Mascot nowhere to be seen.

Mark my words, the next Kentucky jerseys won't have the word "Kentucky" anywhere on it. It's all about brand. UK. You know why they changed the logo? Because it looked too much like a k. That might make someone think of Kentucky and how are you going to get some bandwagon jumper in Denver to buy a Jersey that way. They want it to be just some squiggly lines with no geographic connotations whatsoever.

And that's not college sports. It's not los Angeles vs New York. It's Texas vs Oklahoma or Alabama vs auburn. Regional and school pride, us versus them rivalries. They're trying to kill that, and this thing they're trying to make happen never will.

I'm pretty sure Ohio St has had the same uniforms for about a hundred years. Tech looks pretty traditional too. Maybe go after Oregon or those abominations UL was wearing on Saturday.

you realize OSU hasn't had anything on their jerseys for years and years right? Similar to Alabama...Notre Dame...and a host of others

I think the players like it, I am just glad they have come up with some pants that sag, that would slow the game down.

This post is hilarious. You got it OP..nike's plan is to just print solid colors with nike on them, because their plan is to reduce their revenue by marketing to less specific markets.......OP is insane

Im hearing Ohio St. will be awarding swooshes instead of buckeyes for good plays this season.

Now "thats" rediculous!
:boxing:

OP is right and it's just not in college but the NFL too. The Steelers only have a decal on one of the helmet. It's getting ridiculous. Something must be done to stop Nike

You do realize that prior to Nike designing Ohio State's jersey, there was no "O" or Ohio State anywhere, right?

I give TCU credit, the color is not solid

Michigan State was able to get their name on the template. Good for them.

i think your reading way too much into this bro. fashion is based on trends. trends change and evolve and eventually work themselves back around every 10-20 years. that being said: the only that never changes is change itself.

Im slightly post college age now, but the new jerseys are pretty damn cool and college athletes and students will love it. The TCU jerseys are sick, I really like those. Whoever designed Louisville's new duds was on a serious meth binge, I'm sure the losers LOVE them.

If you buy game tix, be sure you understand who is on the field playing. If you are watching TV, there is usually a scoreboard in the corner of the screen that identifies the teams. College football is all about tradition and its long history. Wearing school names on football jerseys isn't really traditional nor historical.

It is fairly traditional not to have the school name on uniforms. A couple of years ago, Adidas added it to Tennessee's uniforms, then shortened it to Vols and then to just the Power T. When Tennessee moved to Nike, they opted to keep the T and return to a more traditional style. Michigan's uniforms don't say Michigan with Adidas and I doubt they will with Nike. Notre Dame doesn't with Under Armour. I doubt they ever will. The world isn't ending, the sky isn't falling, and OP needs to take a pill.
