NICK RICHARDS officially back (per his IG)

I think Nick Richards is a gigantic piece for next year. With 28-32 mins a game, I think we’ll see a big time jump from him. Foul trouble will be the key for him.....

Nick Richards welcome back to the University of Kentucky. Let me introduce you to the game of basketball.

I think we’ll play a lot of small lineups next season. I am not convinced he can stay out of foul trouble, but he’s an extra five fouls and still has a lot of potential. We really needed him back.
Cal has never gone small so I will have to see it . I suspect he will go Hagans/Maxey/Whitney/Brooks/RIchards with quick / juzang/ allen/ Sestina and whoever else cal adds ( or EJ )

We will add 1 more big whether it is ej , blackshear , or someone else we will .

If he ends up adding someone then we won’t necessarily have to go small but we may have to out of necessity if no one else comes back or joins the fold. I also won’t believe Richards can stay on the court for 25 minutes without fouling out until I see it.

I’d actually rather us go small. I think the bigs should focus on shot blocking and rebounding which Richards is more than capable of handling. The idea of the offense flowing through them even a little bit down low just doesn’t make sense to me for next season. With that said I’m still holding out hope we return EJ or nab KB.

Yeah, says the guy who probably couldn't make the JV team. I played college basketball on scholarship at a low D-1 level and I guarantee you Nick Richards is more accomplished as a basketball player than you (or I) will ever be.

Starters

G Hagans
G Maxey
F Whitney
F Brooks
F Richards

Key Reserves

G Quickley- sub for the 1 and 2 spots.
G Juzang- sub for the 2 and 3 spots.
F Sestina- sub for the 4 and 5 spots.
F Allen- role depends on his recovery from injury.

Rest of the Bench

G Calipari
G Payne
F Canada

Pretty good 12 man roster and 8-man rotation. If Allen is healthy, make it a 9-man rotation.

Would be nice to get at least one more big, preferably Montgomery.

Always great news when you get a guy who will start back. If this kid can put two hands on the ball and bring it in I'll be happy. His size is such an advantage out there if he can just clean up the little mistakes that cost us

Hoping Nick has a great year! Love it when any of our Cats come back for another year. It kind of reminds me of the old days when you really got to see these young men grow up and develop.

So if you didnt play in the NBA you cant have an opinion on NBA players?
