Enrolling in January and getting into the conditioning program is a huge advantage for a young player. Conrad and Daniel will be difference makers for us next fall.

3 most important people for the football program are Stoops, Marrow, and Korem. We can plug other losses. Both those 3 are critical.

Korems approach is revolutionary. It's making a huge difference in each individual player.

Hope it's muscle and not pizza.
There iis no way you can gain that much muscle in that short of a time span.Popeye couldn't do that with spinich
As strange as it seems, it could be a number of things. I'm going to assume that Conrad didn't have habits of continuously being hydrated properly back in high school (a lot of high schoolers don't drink 3 quarts - a gallon a day), so there's water weight. Plus, we really don't know how fast he would fill out with proper nutrition and weight training. It's dependent on his frame, and what he's permitted to do. As mentioned, we have a one-of-a-kind s&c/sports science/sports psychology program here. I would be surprised by that number, but would not be surprised given that Conrad has a guy like Korem to oversee him.

He has a big frame 18 lbs is legit sounds like he is pounding high protein and high calories with intense power lifting. I would not suprise me at all.

At about 250(listed at 231) he should be just about right for TE. Hope he can block. I wonder how Long is doing weight wise.

It's possible Conrad could have had the reported result. No 1 can say it isn't. Gaining muscle bulk in a conditioning program is very individual. Generally the tall, muscular players will gain. Very lean players may need more time and more nutrition. I can name UK players who worked hard for years but didn't gain very much. Darrian Miller, Travaughn Paschal, Ronnie Shields. Other players gained a lot of muscle. Bud Dupree, Mike Douglas, Kyle Meadows. You don't know until you try.

I'm pretty sure you are wrong about Popeye, did you ever notice his forearms, not a normal person.

And I hope you are wrong about CJ, and I will bet he is eating a lot more than spinach.

On the other hand it has only been six or seven weeks I believe, but maybe he snuck in early.

As a former Athletic Trainer this is very possible. We had linemen that would lose 10-12# of water each day during 2-a-day practices. We'd hydrate them like crazy to get it back to normal by the next day.

They likely have him on a hardcore nutrition and supplement program. Depending on his activity level, he may be intaking 4-6 thousand calories. Believe me, he's stacking it on.

You can most definitely gain 18 lbs if you are a growing teenager. Especially when he is eating and lifting right. 18 lbs for a grown adult would be pushing it.

Happens to me every year - between Thanksgiving and New Year's. My problem, it isn't muscle, and it never comes off...

The players have a nutritionist working closely with them I doubt they're eating $5 hot and readys and Big Macs all day. It's also a huge change that the NCAA lifted the restrictions on the number of meals schools were permitted to feed the student athletes. Now schools can keep the diet of their athletes in-house much more than before and keep them from eating junk. Players can get the carbs and protein they need to build muscle mass faster than they were able to before

its tough to gain much more than 20 pounds of muscle in a 4 month period.... but it can be done. the thing is, after that initial bulk up, it gets harder to add on to that. when i got serious in to weightlifting, i lost 10 # initially then gained back 10# over a summer. during the fall i was only able to add 2 more pounds on. the next spring i added no weight. i didn't have the resources available to these guys (or the god given athletic ability, lol) you have to adjust some for size of the person starting out and genetics.

If Conrad was getting fat, he wouldn't be bragging about it on social media...

I think from your posts you are at least forty so sounds like you should have added about 720# by now, at that weight you might be hard to move at nose guard. Maybe they could just roll you out of the way though, reminds me of my brother's joke when he saw a really fat person, he would say they had to carry a flag so you could tell if they were walking or rolling. If you could get on the team you could probably get a lot of help losing some of that, but if you got down to a reasonable weight you would probably lose your position.

A little more "experienced" than 40, but a 5'9", 720 lb nose guard is about right...
