NFL Teams Threaten Non-Renewal to Season Ticket Holders Who Mainly Resell Them

How would they possibly know for sure who sells their tickets and who uses them?

You resell online and obviously there is electronic track of seats and who sold them. Pretty easy to see who is reselling if you go through public resell companies.

Teams like the Packers have years long waiting lists. They are not losing anything by dismissing one ticket holder. UK can’t be as discriminating unless tickets sell out, season that is.

Easy enough to sell tix offline and not get caught. Message boards, friend of a friend, etc.

In this current era of tickets being electronic and tied to a cell phone, it shouldn’t be that hard to track….. although to be fair, a person might sell / give away their tickets to a relative / friend / etc who’s also a fellow fan.

I’m sympathetic to the argument of not allowing fans of the visiting team to negate home advantage, but OTOH, the home team need to put a competitive exciting product on the field to keep this from occurring.
