Next year depth chart

Crumes has good hands and speed but definitely needs a redshirt to get his body right. He is lean. When I gets the ball in his hands though he gets up field in a hurry

Josh didn't look like he lost any weight at all to me, in fact I was a little surprised at how stout he looked after the ordeal he has been through. I think using him at Jack is more of a tribute to how well our DEs are playing than anything else. Since they red-shirted Kn. Daniel they can use an extra body at Jack that has some experience there.
Yeah, since I posted that Stoops came out and said so much and said Josh would move back to DE next year.

I think the talent is there for another 8-10 win season especially considering the schedule, but the downside is we have a whole lot of experienced walking out the door this year. Biggest concerns corners and the Jack position.
Experience AND leadership. Most of our best players are Sr's (and Benny) and they are great leaders. They will be very hard to replace. In fact, I'm just as worried about losing the leadership as the talent.

I'm worried about CB too. Pretty much no experience whatsoever. Jack I'm not as concerned as we were able to RS Kengera Daniel, who I think can be really solid and Juco Bembry may end up there and he's very talented.

This roster looks plenty experienced (except at DB) and talented. I don’t expect to be as good as we are this year, but I also don’t expect us to fall off a cliff either, especially with that schedule. I see 7-8 wins. Maybe more if the team chemistry is good and we gel quickly and leadership emerges.

Would be extremely disappointed with less than 7 wins. That needs to be our baseline minimum at this point of the Stoops era. We need to have a bowl game in our pocket already headed into the UofL game - always.

Great OP and thread.

Hopefully our interior depth can help pressure QB’s to the benefit of a rebuilding secondary, especially early next season. The SEC is called a “line of scrimmage” conference, and we were pretty dominant the first half of this season. I think we will in the first half of next, at least.

Looking at the schedule, I can find 8 wins, or more, knowing that road trips to Mississippi State and Georgia look tough.

Love out depth at DEnd but really hard not to keep Paschal with his hand in the dirt. He is just next level talented. With Boogie, Wright, K Daniel, and possibly Oats playing the outside linebacker spots, it would doable to keep Paschal at DEnd. Much more explosive Front 7 with Pashal at DEnd.

May depend on what in coming jucos look best between Bembry and Payne. if Bembry is ready for major role at OLB then easier for Paschal at DEnd. If Payne is ready at DE then possibly move Paschal to OLB. good to have some options

No way Josh or anyone can play the Jack at 265# against SEC teams, the position requires too much agility in coverage calls. The only reason he is playing there now is he is more familiar with that position and the quality of the opponents

I'm worried about our Defensive secondary taking a step back and don't know how good our RBs will be....We won't be as good.

If memory serves he was around 265 when he played Jack last year. granted, Allen is a different body type but he is 260 playing Jack.
I'm more than happy keeping him at 280ish playing DEnd
