I was thinking about that TJ Beisner practice report from the other day, in which he recalled the legendary scrimmage wars that took place in UK’s practices during the 2012 and 2015 seasons. Those pitched showdowns require not just elite talent, but elite and balanced depth. I’m envisioning some insane scrimmages next season. Even assuming we lose Knox, Diallo, Richards, and Vanderbilt, and making no assumptions about Moses Brown or James Wiseman, the rosters could look like this:
Team 1
Quade Green
Tyler Herro
Keldon Johnson
PJ Washington
Wenyen Gabriel
Team 2
Immanuel Quickley
Jemarl Baker
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Zion Williamson
Sacha Killeya-Jones
That’s two Top 15 rosters, again, still without even the benefit of assuming we have Nick Richards, Jarred Vanderbilt, Moses Brown, or James Wiseman. Barring injuries, our team will have the pieces to go at it next year.
