New Big Man Option: Kentucky In On 2020 Big Frank Anselem

Listening to Chris Fischer this morning, it sounded like if Haarms would have committed then Anselem would have not been interested in UK. That’s the way I understood it anyway.
This kid knows he's a multiple year guy I hope. There should be no reason for him to be run off by a guy who would only have been here for 1 season.

If he would have spurned UK because a backup player like Haarms was coming, I hope he's prepared to see big guys much better than Haarms getting recruited to play at UK.

If he signs and stays at UK and goes through the process, the coaches will turn him into a bigtime weapon, but if a guy like Haarms is going to scare him off, he might as well go elsewhere or at least have a set of transfer papers at the ready.

I think with Anselem it's part need for next year and part Cal has seen the writing on the wall for the future. I think that's also why so many other Power 5 teams have offered him. With all this G League BS getting guys 50-100 that will stick around for 3-4 years is going to be the way to go. Of course, you have as many stars as you can, but you need a group of these lower guys each year just to ensure you don't get left with 1 player after a season.

Regardless if we sign this kid or not we are going to need another guy who is ready to man the post next year and if he's not a Top 25 type guy then I think we really need experience. I thought Silva could have been like an RT teamed with someone else inside. A guy that couldn't be pushed off the blocks. We don't have anyone like that. Right now we have 9 guys ready, very little experience, and a thin frontcourt. I really hope we add at least 2 more guys to get to 11. From what I understand Toppin is sitting out.

Also even if the transfer vote passed isn't it for 2021? I didn't think that would help us this year, but I keep seeing comments of people saying I hope that passes so we can get a top big.
